Had our first camping trip with the Trailer this past weekend! The past few years we have been tent camping and it was time for an upgrade! What an awesome experience it was. We picked a close camp ground for the first trip to make sure everything worked with our new Trailer. It was only 20 minutes from our house but it felt like a different world for 2 days. I always said I wanted a cabin in the woods and now we have a little cabin we can take places! The weather was chilly. It got down to the upper 30s one night and only upper 50s during the day. It also rained for a while. But the heater in the camper worked great and sitting by the fire at night listening to the owls with a full moon was awesome! The kids had a blast. You know its a good trip when they are crying when we had to head home. My wife had a blast and our dog loved exploring everything!

My Maverick handled the trailer (2025 jayco jay flight slx 170bh) without an issue. I would say loaded the trailer was around 3200lbs (empty its 3000lbs). Tongue weight was probably just under 400lbs (empty its 300lbs). It was all back roads to the camp ground with some very steep hills. Max speed on some of the roads I was going 55 (50 speed limit). Averaged around 15mpg. Can't wait for more adventures!

Thanks for sharing the review and the pictures. Sure beats tent camping IMHO. Don't take it the wrong way, tent camping is still camping but having the creatures of comfort raises the bar. Hope you get out more and build fond memories.

Yes tent camping was fun. We had a big 10 person tent but when it rained or was cold it was not fun... Also setting up and taking it down was not fun and if it was wet you had to set it all back up once you got home. This past weekend was rainy on and off and cold but we still had a blast. It would of been miserable if we were in a tent. Only saw one tent at the camp ground everyone else had Trailers or drivable RVs.

Glad to hear that the Maverick was able to handle this trailer without an issue. Looking for one currently as well & can't wait to go camping with it. Looking at a maximum weight of 3500 lbs to leave a little buffer.

Awesome! Should be good. Max weight of my trailer is 3750lb. Just watch the hitch weight. As once you add propane and battery a 300lb hitch weight is about 390lbs. I will be getting a LiFePO4 Lithium battery to replace the stock battery at some point. It's twice the capacity at half the weight (25lbs less than the stock lead acid battery).

Let’s just say Jayco has a rather, umm not so great reputation for build quality these days, along with needing to pull teeth to get warranty support.
I think that can be said for the whole RV industry. For the price I paid I’m happy with the quality.

Thats awesome. I bought mine for the exact same reason. I have yet to use it for that though. Can you describe/explain what you had to do "truck wise"? ie. Any setting you needed to change. Any switches you needed turned on.
