Fire extinguisher

Do you carry a fire extinguisher in your Maverick? If so, where do you put it and how do you keep it secured?

I have one, it is under the back seat. It's to help out anyone or anything else.
If someone points to my truck and tells me it's on fire. I'm going to stop and get my dog out if she's with me.
I'm not emotionally attached to it.
It can burn to the ground. That's why I pay for insurance.
If a Fire started in that truck, I surely don't want it back

I have a marine size wrapped in a plastic bag, fits perfect along side of the rear seat.

Always and mostly because I'm in the mountains often. Doesn't take much to start a really nasty fire. 1 pound bottle fits well in the bed cubby.

I have a First Alert Marine/Auto fire extinguisher, that I got from Harbor Freight, and fits perfectly in the big door cup holders that "nothing fits in". At first, it rattled a little when I was going off road. All it took to fix the rattle was to slip a tube sock over it. It now sits perfectly silent and has never came out of that pocket when I close/slam the door.

I keep one in the driver's door. Fits perfectly and it's within easy reach. Had a 2018 Chevy Colorado catch fire in my driveway and caught my house on fire along with it. Not ashamed to admit I'm still a bit paranoid.

I have kept mine, in the door cubby (Driver's Side Rear)..

Also, have carried one of those "Window" breaker things. (orange item in photo)..

Our son gave us a couple of emergency window breaker tools his work gave away to employees a few years ago. On ours, it has a led light, glass break tool, and a seatbelt cutter.

No need to be ashamed. You don’t know anxiety and fear until you’ve had a structure fire. It’s not the flames, it’s the smoke that destroys everything. In your case, it might have been both.

I'm like Captain Hook when it comes to things clicking and rattling when I drive. That's why I'm glad I didn't get one of these that people complain about noises in the dash or anywhere like that lol

It's refreshing to read a post (fire extinguisher) and several helpful responses without a lot of back and forth BS. It's how a forum should work.

I have (2) of these in every vehicle (except the on-board halon car). I tested one before making the total investment, it worked well with very long discharge time (5x a standard chemical extinguisher)... Super small and easy to store....
