The app is dumb.
Had very little utility.
You should not remote start anyway.
It wastes gas. It pollutes. And it is illegal in some states / municipalities.

But ignore that part. That wasn't the point.

The point is the battery and charging system generally works fine. You said or agreed it doesn't.

I pointed out parasitic draw is responsible in a lot of cases. Which is way different than "not charging".
Our state has outlawed municipalities from implementing idling bans and remote starting (warm up) bans. It's our gas to use, we paid for it. The Maverick does not adequately charge the battery. After driving all day it hovers around 80 to 85 %. Never, ever reaches full charge like it absolutely should. I will agree with you on one thing, the Maverick needs a competent engineering department to find all of the parasitic draws that are happening and stop those. One should be able to know their vehicle is shut down when it is turned off. The small modem (basically a cell phone imbedded in the vehicle) would have miniscule current drain from a car battery. The Maverick Lariat Hybrid we have clicks a dozen clicks anytime we walk by it in the garage.

My 24 Eco gives me a single click when I walk by, with the key fob in my pocket.

I choose when and how to start MY vehicle.
You’d start a war around here with that kind of government control.
We the people would not allow that.

The dealership told us that Ford eliminated the key fob start buttons on that run of Maverick Lariats as they said that was replaced by using the FordPass app.
They didn't remove it, they just made it a separate option in '23.

Just can't believe in a Lariat Lux package it wouldn't have had remote start on the fob as standard. We ordered an hybrid XLT back in the summer of 2023 and was told we might get it by the following summer (2024). A woman had ordered a hybrid 2023 Lariat Lux back in winter of 2022 and it finally arrived end of October 2023, but by that time, she had bought another vehicle and didn't want her order. They offered it to us for the same price as our ordered hybrid 2024 XLT came out to (there was a price increase in 2024 models) We jumped on it got on November 1, 2023.

I'm still getting to know my Mav, took possession early September. I've read things here about the "clicking", but only that it's normal. I have yet to run across an explanation for what the truck is doing, mostly just after it is shut off. If it "clicks" anytime later, I'm curious to know what and why. A parasitic draw is just that, is it really nessary or just avoiding some 2 second boot up? When I open a door to toss something on the seat that I need to take with me tomorrow, I don't want the dash buttons, large screen, and also a bunch of exterior lights to come on (for 10 seconds after I close the door). It pulls down the battery that may say is already stressed.

switched my battery to a cheap AGM battery off amazon and never had the problem since. Meanwhile people out here getting recalls for their AC to fix it and bricking the truck.....crazy....ford just put a junky battery in everyone's truck.
Some problems were caused by the battery. Some were caused by the AC draw. We've replaced batteries, and the problem was solved. But we've had to reprogram the ACCM on others. I did brick the first one I did ... TWICE. it was a combination of faulty software from Ford and possibly not quite performing the procedure as instructed (poorly). This module requires a VERY different procedure than any other module. And the instructions include a measurement that the are two does not even have. So I figured a way to perform what they were talking about. I haven't bricked another one since. If I owned one that was out of warranty, I was certainly install a new AGM battery and reset the battery life monitor before attempting to have it reprogrammed. But if I had one that was still under warranty, I would get a battery under warranty. And have the ACCM reprogrammed while it is still under warranty. SO IF IT IS BRICKED, THERE WILL NOT BE ANY CONTROVERSY OVER WHO IS PAYING. That's my advice as a Ford tech

When we perform a current drug test on any of our vehicles, Ford tells us to wait up to 90 minutes before we condemn a parasitic draw as too high.
Don't worry about the various clicks and lights and etc that you see and hear. That's not what is killing people's batteries. It's usually the stuff that is happening after everything should have shut down. When you open the door, stuff wakes up. But it shuts down pretty quickly once you close the door. The parasitic draws that kill a battery are things that never shut down not things that take a while to shut down. By the way, although Ford gives a 90-minute window. Most of the time if the vehicle has been running, everything shuts down within about 20 minutes. If the door has been opened or something similar, everything usually shuts down in 5 minutes or less. Those clicks are various relays energizing. And some modules remain on standby because they have to be ready. You may not complain. But if you start your vehicle and attempt to put it in drive, and it doesn't allow you for a few seconds, you may not complain, but the average customer will screen bloody murder.

Darryl, thanks! I'm not really very worried about the parasitic draws at this point as my truck and the battery are very new, so I don't anticipate problems until they manifest. Some have them, some don't.
I'm still curious what is the vehicle doing to shut down after use and prep for next use. Although you say that the systems return dark or off in a short amount of time, I say they were/are not called to action to begin with. These modern vehicles are networks of computers. A switch that energized a wire that lit the dome light are now an input and output, if I open the door the dome light comes on...ok, I can get by without that but ok. I don't want the big screen until I stuff the key in the ignition aaaand start the truck, and if I lived anywhere else than I do, I don't want to advertise that I had just left my vehicle unattended.
Our modern vehicles have many nice and useful features, but winking lights and chirping are so passe.

You'd be surprised at how many people already complain that the screen takes too long to come on after starting. That's the usual complaint. So Ford and other manufacturers design the vehicles to suit the majority of customers. But I THINK you can set the screen to not show anything. I not sure if it still comes on when the door is opened or not on that setting though. It would be nice if when you set the interior light not to come on when the door is opened, then the other stuff wouldn't light up either.

and then we never saw the OP again....
I think it is just a little bit rude when the original person never acknowledges any comments after they've asked a question. And if they have finished responding, it would be nice if they simply acknowledge that they had to answer and would no longer respond. Then the others could continue to discuss among themselves without addressing the original person.

Sorry, not being rude. The whole point of my post was bsarcastic. The deep sleep and unlit cabin when opening the doors is NOT a feature. I finally was able to get Ford to fix it.

Tomorrow I will have owned my 2022 first edition for 36 months. I have learned that if the coast of North Carolina temperature drops, I do not have interior lights. This occurred the winter of 2022 and 2023 and 2024 but the truck has never failed to start. I know about where all the switches are so I just feel around to find them. I think it is a Ford Maverick standard feature not to provide interior lighting during the winter.

I agree that I may be a minority opinion in those market forces. Still, at this point, the whole vehicle is a programmable computer and one should be able to make more changes for some preferences.
Talked to my dealer about changing some of the most annoying things (that I've learned can be done with ForScan). Nope, that will void the warranty. Talking now more about the things that make no sense to me like a screen that tells me I just buckled my seatbelt or a bell that tells me I just opened my door or leave the key in the ignition.
