Really just depends on your use case, both are awesome, capable trucks, but with a different set of objectives. I drove F150's for years, because they fit my lifestyle. Life changes, trucks change, now the Mav fits me perfectly. It's not a right/wrong, it's a "what works"..... I don't think the OP will have any regrets. 🤠 Altho some days I do miss that LMS tuned 2.7 F150.... 😍

I went from a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 cummins diesel and a 2018 Chevy Equinox diesel (yes they did make a diesel version the Equinox for 2 years 2018 and 2019) to finding a used 2022 Maverick

After my wife went into assisted living home I sold the RV and the Ram for 30K and traded the Equinox in for the Maverick. The primary reason is if I travel now that I am retired I just fly and rental vehicle and since we have not used the RV since my wife got dementia it made no sense in keeping the RV.

I find the Maverick the correct size and drives like the Chevy but has all the capacity for my projects the perfect sized for zipping around town and a relaxed freeway cruiser.

Driven 4 different F150s for the past 25 years. Had a 2023 V-6 Ecoboost prior to ordering this Maverick. I made a similar post few months back asking the same thing. I've had my 2025 AWD Hybrid Maverick since February. Not gonna lie, still adjusting to the cab space. Loading and unloading the bed is definitely a plus since it's at a managable height. The ride is definitely nice. But the biggest plus is what I'm NOT paying at the pump. That right there makes up for the cab space I lost. I've had XLTs in all my F150s. Got the Lariat in this one and love all the features. Give it a bit, but you'll adjust just fine.

Retired my 2012 F150 XLT Supercrew, 6.5' bed 4x4 as my DD for an Escape then the Maverick. Love the truck, but it's a barge, drinks fuel, and most of the time hauls large amounts of air. Not to mention it's a pain in the ass to get in and out of the bed.

My Lariat Hybrid AWD is smaller, more fuel efficient and doesn't require a degree in physics to park. I do miss the V8 sound though.

Not a lot of negative changes to be honest. Biggest is probably interior space, but at 6'1” it's still pretty spacious.

Had a 2017 f150 basic six which I loved. Am now in my second Maverick hybrid. Twice the mpg and rediscovering what a garage is for made all the difference.

I traded in my 2020 F150 XLT 5.0L for a 2025 Lariat AWD Hybrid with 4K tow. Best upgrade I have ever done & would do it again. FYI - for the past 3,600 miles averaging 41.7 MPG. Best ever was 68 MPG on a 10 mile city trip.
Curious as to your take on acceleration of your 2020 F150 5.0 vs the 2025 Maverick AWD Hybrid. I'm not talking a drag race just normal everyday driving - lets stay stoplight to stoplight. I just picked up my 2025 AWD Hybrid today and traded in a 2024 Mustang GT (3.55 gears) 10 speed auto and I must say the Hybrid is very nice off the line in and around town. My Mustang felt pretty lethargic off the line (even with the 3.55 gears) in normal everyday driving. The Mustang didn't really wake up until you got it to 4K+ RPM's and then it would pull really well all the way to it's 7500 RPM redline. Just curious as to what your experience is between the 5.0 Coyote and the hybrid?

I have had numerous F350 SRWs, all diesel. last winter we parked the fifth wheel permanently at a great RV Park. Sold the 350 within a week and bought a Maverick. This past trip from AZ to MI was the first trip in 7 years with no CEL or trips to a dealer. Read my lips, no more diesels. I really enjoy the little Maverick and I have set it up to tow behind the new to us motorhome . life is good

I had the supercrew cab F150 for 8 years loved it but kids grew up, finished remodeling my home, don't go camping as much and it was just sitting. Sold it and got the maverick fx4 so far like it just as much as the f150 and it fits in garage
Yup, ditto... for 11 years my F150 Screw has served me well. It continues to and is getting new upgraded springs for the light truck camper (7th year), and on its 2nd set of airbags (airlifts last about 8yrs). It is still used for a bit of snow plowing and towing of the bigger toys. This weekend, the '25 Mav FX4 served me very well towing a teardrop camper like nothing. And somehow rain and mud were a factor but the Mav never lets me down. The ATR tires are okay but they'll be replaced eventually with another brand that's more aggressive for mud and snow. And yes, the Mav fits in the garage. Having a cap it's kinda like a swiss army knife for me, a very very handy small truck.... One size does not fit all sometimes, I guess. Maybe eventually it will be enough when I finally give heed to my aches and pains in my aging body from my old hobbies. A few campers, couple boats, and bigger trailers makes the F150 earn it's keep whenever it gets pulled out of retirement and put to work. About 3k miles per year of doing the hard stuff, the F150 has it's place. The Mav is my daily driver and covers the light stuff, it's really impressing me.

Keep the F150...get the Maverick and tell your spouse...if you have one, that the reason to have BOTH is so they don't break into or steal the F150 at the movies, restaurants, stores, Etc. The Mav is your new Patrick Swayze mobile....or bait truck. If you don't know what I mean, watch the original Roadhouse some day. You "need" the F150 for your boat/UTV trailer, etc. The Mav will be for mileage and savings on your monthly fuel bill. If you need me to vouch, I can write a convincing letter.:cool::cool:
