@Redneck Garage cut them for me. Mailed him a postage paid return envelope (a flat rate postage paid envelope folded inside another flat rate postage paid envelope), one of my original fobs, the blanks, and some unrequested cash since he was doing me a favor. He may or may not be able to still offer that to people.
I made the mistake of buying the blank Maverick key off Amazon and 4 different locksmith shops would not cut the key..Their reason (and I don't blame them)....is if they screwed up the key or it did not work they would not want to pay what I paid for it on Amazon.

Does anybody know if these will work if your truck has a 4 button fob? I don't think I am ever going to use the remote start from fob, but don't want to buy a key with an incompatible chip.
Aftermarket then?
Transponder chip is mentioned in key descriptions too in order to find compatible. That stays the same.
This thread has several references to this.

Lariat keyless entry with remote is different frequency according to info in here.

OP kept updating his post as more info came out in 1st few pages.

Thank you for your responses and the past also. Since you said you only use one of them, meaning keys. Does that imply that you would use the third key as your daily key, since you need the two originals to make a third key in case that you lost the key you will use daily?

Did you have a third make yet? If so, did you get it made as same place as the OP had his made at? I have tried in the past to get my key cut for another car and the key places wouldn't do it because I didn't buy the key from them.
You need 2 Admin keys to do the process to make a 3rd.
Not original required.
Use any of the 3 as desired, keep 2 Admins safe.

Thread only 6 pages, can skim quickly and contains this info already as well as more.

Was wondering if a locksmith could just cut one for you. Or get the keypad which Ford stopped putting on.
At the amazon location cited by the OP, the company mentioned will cut sell you fob key and cut it for you for 39 bucks if you send him a picture of the key you have

I finally realized the key you mentioned is listed on Amazon not Ebay. I ordered 2. I will let you know how they work out.
Got the 2 keys, one worked perfectly, the other would not even slide in the lock. Contacted the seller by email (outside of Amazon) and they immediately responded to my email asking for a new picture of the key and said they will send a new key.

I will update on the results.

For those looking to have a extra key and fob as a backup. I purchased 2 keys with just a picture I sent them. I program Both keys and they work just as good as the ford oem. So 2 backup keys for $70.

I ordered one of these from the same vendor at your suggestion @Mrjones .

The key I received didn't insert even 1/2 way into the door lock or ignition cylinders. I emailed the seller, and promptly was instructed to keep the first key, and they would mail a replacement one. They didn't request another picture of my key. 6 days later I received the second key and it worked and programmed perfectly. I'll keep the first one they sent with the battery removed as a backup remote in case one goes bad.

The whole process from ordering to receiving the second operational key was about 12 days. Their customer service was quick to respond and to ship the second key, so I recommend this vendor.

So 2 written examples of sloppy workmanship.
At least their customer service is good it sounds like.

How in the world do you cut 1 key that works but 2nd doesn't?
Or cut another from same picture that works?
Oh, I know how, I've watched hardware person do it with regular house/car keys - even from my angle standing back I'm thinking - that looks cockeyed in the clamp.
Yep, sure was on testing. How did they not see it standing right there over it?

Thanks guys for confirming a good company at least, reasonable price.
Perhaps more like this will convince local locksmiths they might want to get competitive.

That's one way it could happen I suppose, but not the case here. It's not at all obvious what the differences are between the working key and the non-working one, and it's definitely not cockeyed or sloppy. The differences between the two are so small that I'm not sure how they ever get any to work.

Yes, I actually tested the key to unlock the door before I programmed it
Thanks so much for the great link and suggestion for a spare key! Mine arrived and it works perfectly! Half the Dealer wanted to charge me and bonus one of my fob battery was low so i took the one out of the new spare and swapped it out, so that was a $10 savings!!! Thanks again and have a very Happy New Year.

I sent a photo and a very few days later received the key. The key works very well although the button to sound the alarm does seem to get triggered more easily than the OEM key.
I am very pleased!

I'm glad for starting this thread, I know I got some laughs and heat saying there is no way this could work. Glad that it worked out for you....

Does the replacement fob have the same range to unlock & start your Maverick like the OEM fob?
