I know right with the spelling lol. I was suspicious at first bit when it arrived it worked so I ordered one more. Now if they could do them for my wife's car that would be awesome. She misplace her keys all the time
Do you think if it wasnt programed could it be used as a spare, unlock the door only key? I would like one to do hide a key but not able to start truck for lock outs by mistake only. ThanksFor those looking to have a extra key and fob as a backup. I purchased 2 keys with just a picture I sent them. I program Both keys and they work just as good as the ford oem. So 2 backup keys for $70.
Probably just get 2 metal key without the FOB for $25-$30 maybe less?
You could put an airtag (or similar tech) on them couldn't you? I've been thinking of doing something like that with a few of my items... including the new truck. Though I agree with the idea that it would be nice to have a key that only unlocks the door (and possibly a "valet key" that unlocks the door and starts the vehicle, but does not allow the various settings to be changed or unlock the tailgate),
Was wondering if a locksmith could just cut one for you. Or get the keypad which Ford stopped putting on.
The fobs can be dumbed down, (see mykey in manual ).and restricted. I have not done that but for kids etc. can restrict max speed, limit radio volume, etc. The push button start lariat comes with a key that can be removed from the fob to unlock door.
