8 years/ 36K miles? You are only going to drive it slightly over 4K miles a year?
I plan on towing it more than driving it. I have already towed it 2622 miles (not recorded by odometer) and driven it 2361 miles in almost 8 months. About 10 miles per day. At that rate, it will be close to 30,000 in 8 years. The Jeep gets most of the winter duty here.

Lombard Ford is Florida licensed so you can quote there, but in general that means they'll charge about Ford's recommended retail price for the ESP instead of discounted to near-cost. So in practice over double Granger's cost.

For instance here's 8 yr $100 deductible on a 2WD Maverick from Lombard. 9yr adds $215 for any mileage up 100k, another $255 for 10yr.

WOW, I paid less than half that 3320 from Granger for the 85k/2030 but used my 210.00 points still was about 1500 and was day before the price increase which was about 80 bucks and I had 8k and over a year old could of saved few hundred more likely if I got it when vehicle was new. If your going to get it I would do it now, If theres say a 80.00 price increase every year PLUS they add for mileage and age in 3 years could be a chunk of change you save doing it NOW. I have only once before kept a vehicle after the warranty expired in maybe 40 years but the way car prices are going I may not be able to afford a new car every 3/4 years, so am going to take care of my Maverick.

I can't buy from Granger because Florida
I also live in Florida, and bought my Ford extended warranty from Granger. Just give them an out of state address from a relative (son or daughter, any relative will do) All transactions are done on line, and are never sent to that address. It never states where the warranty was sold.

Good tip. I'll have to see if my cousin in Tennessee would mind

DO you have a price chart? Is it worth paying on 3 years that are already covered?
All warranties begin the day the vehicle was sold and zero miles. Waiting doesn’t add anything except you get to use your money during that time. I bought my extended warranty the same week I purchased my Maverick.

All,
First ford product- picking up Maverick Tremor this afternoon. I plan on getting extended warranty through Flood or Grainger(Thanks to Forum help). I get the mileage calculation- How many years is "ideal"?
I got the 7yr/125,000miles at the $200 deductible from flood ford. I drive a lot so I at least wanted a warranty that would cover the truck when I passed the 100k mark. At the time I paid around $1600 for it and had 17k on my truck, definitely recommend getting the extended warranty before you hit 12k. Saves you an extra $100 bucks. At the very least I would recommend getting one that covers the length of your loan if you financed.

I don't plan on waiting until 3/36k to purchase my extended warranty but I did want to give my Maverick some time before I decided if I am keeping it long term and want to invest in the warranty.

It appears that I will likely be doing that.

You can buy the factory extended warranty any time before the bumper to bumper expires. I will wait until my 36000 miles is almost up.
What I did on my F250 diesel. If read warranty terms, I think it starts day you buy it. So if have bumper to bumper or the 3yrs/36,000 miles still in effect, prob never use the Ford Protect plan. So I wait till reach end of factory warranties, whichever comes first (time vs mileage) If reached factory warranties first, then try for Ford Protect plan, the vehicle will have to undergo a “used vehicle“ inspection by Ford dealer, and then can buy it, aware it by authorized Ford Protect agent.

in past I used Flood, they having best rates, terms.

Is there a list anywhere of what is specifically not covered in the PremiumCARE plan?

If my Mav ever arrives, I was planning on getting 8yr/100,000 just to sync it up with the hybrid warranty.

I was planning on waiting 11-1/2 months, or just less than 12,000 miles. But Granger announced the 10/1/23 price increase, so I bought it before the increase at just less than 7 months. IIRC, the price increases usually come between October and December.

Studying ESP the plans now. I can't say I've cracked any code. Sounds like from others you should grab it before 1 yr. or 12,000 mi. After 9 months, I'm averaging 13,750 per year. Looks like things go way up after 100k miles. So for me, 6yrs./85k, 7yrs/100k or 9yr/125k look like the right fit. For deductible, I'm thinking $50 or $100. Throw out $0 and $200. For Plan choice, I like the #1 (Premium) and #3 (Base) most expensive options. Those 2 levels have a big jump in parts covered from the previous level.

Deductibles
$200 - Betting 1 Claim
$100 - Betting 2 claims
$50 - Betting 3-4 claims
$0 - Betting 5+

Any help here or checking of math is more than welcome...

I'm not completely sold on an ESP, either. Cars are said to be designed to break after 150k, not before. The prices reflect that idea. However, I'm thinking the Maverick may have a failure or 3 in store before 100k.

There are multiple failure points in the Mav...hybrid and ecoboost. Numerous issues on here that are brought up.

The sweet spot is the 60k and 100k warranties. I went with 10 year/100k for $1300 or so after my points reduction ($200 deductible, as I'm using it like insurance). Honestly, I could've done the 60k no problem as I've had it a month and put 110 miles on it. But, I mostly did it for resale, thinking that in say five years time I can sell it with the Ford premium warranty on it covering up to 100k miles and that was worth the increase in cost of the 60k to 100k.

So, who knows. Plus, I may drive it a lot more in the future too.

I'm keeping my money for now and waiting just shy of 1 year or 12k miles. The prices go up after that.

Yep. I understand I am going to pay a little more just before 12k miles than if I would have bought when new but I get 11k or so miles to get a feel for my truck and if I want to keep it long term and make that additional investment.
