I am going to wait until I get the truck. Then go to one of the dealers that charge 50 over cost. Not sure which one to get. And a 5 year extended warrant is actually 2 years. Factory plus extended.
Granger Motors offers one $50 over cost. Flood Ford has them $100 over cost.

Thanks. Think there was another one too. But thought those were all 50 over cost. Don't want the dealer to charge me double what the cost is. I intend to decline it on purchase.

Again, I have been away from Ford for almost 4 years now. So things may have changed. But, Ford did not (in the past) have brake fluid as a wear item that was changed on a schedule. The dealer can recommend, but if it is not on a mileage schedule you are not getting it. And similarly for the shocks/struts. If they hold up well, they are not getting replaced. So it is a bit of a gamble if it will pay off dependent on dealer pricing for the contract. But for sure, if you bought this and didn't keep the car to that over 100K mark then it is a waste. Even with my luxury clients I don't sell them contracts at low mileage as it does not pencil out in their favor. As the car accumulates mileage and the services get more expensive then the contracts become a MUCH better option. But I am also servicing cars that may have a $2600 service on them
Great feedback and thank you! I agree that shocks/struts not likely a thing. I had no issues with the ones on one of my previous F-150's and I kept that truck for 8 years and 125k miles.

I am not trying to sell this plan but trying to convince myself it is worth it (and share my discoveries). Lots of things I didn't know were covered, are. I'll have to balance the price I get quoted against what I think the service price might be.

Info for those who might be interested or on the fence.

I posted in a related thread that Long McArthur price matched Granger at my request.

I picked up my Mav back in March, and I purchased Ford Protect Premium Care for 6yr/60k. It's as close to bumper-to-bumper as you can get, and I only plan on having the truck for 6 years until there's enough infrastructure in place to be able to have a practical use for the EVs that they're eventually going to force us to buy.

I considered it, but with the factory warranty including 5yr/60,000 mile power train I think I won't.

Waiting for my truck to arrive here. Definitely won't be doing a maintenance plan. I have the ability to do all maintenance on my own. Unless we're talking about pulling entire drivetrains and transmission rebuilds, you'll find me doing it myself.

Not interested in an extended warranty either. To me, it's like when a tire place tries to sell you a "tire protection package" 🙄. At the end of the day, it's just a money grab. I think we've passed the era of when cars legitimately couldn't make it past 75k to 100k miles without major issues.

I may sound cheap... I definitely am LOL. But that's also why I'm here, buying a Mav, instead of a Ranger or F150.
If cheap is not wasting money on what you don't need than I'm cheap.

The factory warranty truly isn't that bad. It's all a gamble as with any other car, but if you keep up on regular maintenance (whether you're a DIY-er or take it somewhere), you'll likely be fine with the factory warranty.

Speaking from the EB side as that's what mine is, I'd say the 2.0 has been a pretty bulletproof motor from my own experience. Out of the box, I'd say it's reliable. The only people I've seen have issues with this motor were Focus ST owners who had hopped up tunes, running E30 or higher, and 30+ lbs of boost.

I plan on keeping my Maverick a very long time. I still have my 2012 Ford Focus I bought new. That model of Focus has had it share of issues. However mine has been problem free. The Maverick is going to be our 3rd vehicle. I am going with the 8yr/100k warranty with Granger. It's cheap enough justify the cost. Also it being a first year of a new platform, so I think it's a good idea.
How much is it?

Just hit 30K after 1 year 4/29 (yes, love driving the FE) just in case, I bought the 150 mi/6 yr ESP from GRAINGER ($1100 les then my dealer who let me know they were just above cost lol).
Two days ago got a POWERTRAIN warning light, tho it’s covered by original I’m glad I bought the ESP…
