No, I didn't need a new phone, and my pickup also has wireless charging which is redundant when having to tether. I don't find the apps superior at all. Great it works for you. I would have paid for the option. Because that is what I WANT.

You can still pay to add it. You just have to get the sync 3 module that has navigation, many places you can buy it and have it programmed to your VIN.

An interesting tid-bit was that Ford will be going with Google software starting in MY23. No more MS-Sync apparently.

I guess getting pushed to a My23 will be just a little better then.

Hopefully we will get aftermarket stereo options soon that will fill the whole area. The screen on the XLT is one of the worst I've seen and it always locks up. Only thing I don't like about the truck.

I can't believe all the complaints about the size of the screen when the Maverick is the least expensive truck on the market today.

It would be ok if it had a high res screen with better electronics. The base and XLT version is total junk. Terrible screen quality. Also, if you have that much real estate to work with you should at least offer an optional big screen.
