I am on the fence with the DSS Sliders. Just installed them without modifying anything on the truck. I have not reinstalled the felt panels yet. The felt panels are the only things that need modified, so it's not a big deal.

They look great on your truck, if you like them keep them!
Thanks! I wasn’t sure how much I liked them at first. My wife isn’t a fan, but they’re starting to grow on me. I’ll give it a week and see how I feel then.

When I bought the Maverick, I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy having a smaller truck. But after three weeks, I like it a lot more than any of my past cars or bigger trucks!

No idea what we're looking at, but I did notice your low profile vent visors are installed way too high. They're supposed to sit on top of the rubber window trim, not the top of the door frame.

If you're talking about the rocker steps I would say no go those look like curb catchers. At 6'1 I can literally fall into my Maverick it sit so low I honestly wish it sat 4 in higher from the factory.

The vent shades are installed correctly. Ford’s low-profile design includes a ridge that aligns with the body lines, helping reduce wind noise—they stay very quiet even at highway speeds. That’s a big difference compared to my old vent shades, which created a lot of noise.

As for the bars, they’re not actual steps (a real step would be wider than 2–3"). They’re mainly for looks and to help deflect road debris. That said, my Chihuahua does use them to hop into the truck—so that’s a nice bonus!

I would keep them. Good for tying shoes while seated & may even add better cornering stiffness to the unibody!

You sure, this is taken directly from fords website. 99.99% sure yours are installed to high, but what do I know.

They’ve released version after version of these. The one you’re showing looks shorter than mine and even has a strange bump-out detail between the doors. I get the feeling Ford just outsources them to anyone willing to slap a Ford logo on their product. 😉

My instructions were very clear about the placement. If I can find them, I’ll post them so we can finally put the questions to rest, lol.

Just seems next to useless installed so high, barely covering the top of the glass. Normally they extend 2" minimum past the glass.

They look fine, but not really my style, they may add some protection to your lower side panels (assuming they don't guide footwear to the rocker panels). You have already invested the time, money and effort here, so l would keep them as long as they don't pose a safety hazard related to your body structure crush zones. Then use care not to scuff your rockers.

Not my cup of tea. Personal opinion: Your truck looks better w/o them.
