I like them. Wish I could get ones for the Mav like I had on my 97 Dakota.keep. I know there is a lot of dissent on this forum for running boards, but I like em.
So... yeah, that's how they were designed before. AVS was the company making them for Ford. The original product was vacuum formed and was very similar to the current, injection molded design. AVS was merged into Husky, so AVS is being phased out with Husky replacing it. The quality and consistency of the injection molded visor is an upgrade to the vacuum formed design. The top of the visor now sits a little bit higher than the mirror frame. It can still be installed the old way, and it will hold up fine.You sure, this is taken directly from fords website. 99.99% sure yours are installed to high, but what do I know.
Your vent shade are installed correctly...they couldn't possibly fit in the way he's describing...the nerfs look good.They’ve released version after version of these. The one you’re showing looks shorter than mine and even has a strange bump-out detail between the doors. I get the feeling Ford just outsources them to anyone willing to slap a Ford logo on their product.
My instructions were very clear about the placement. If I can find them, I’ll post them so we can finally put the questions to rest, lol.
Thanks... I have seen many variations on the vent shades. 4 different types that were "ford" products. My parts guy said they have trouble getting inventory of options like this...and now it kind of a free for all. They have pasted their label on just about anything they can find.
