Hi Guys,

Anybody else finding that the foam on the drivers side armrest is garbage, and is already collapsing after just one year?

When I drive I usually rest my arm on the door armrest with my hand on the wheel. After just one year I have a significant divot in the armrest where my elbow sits. I have never had a vehicle where the foam has collapsed like this. I know the interior was cheap, but this is a bit ridiculous.

Anybody else having this problem? Will Ford replace the armrest?

Thanks!

Hey there. Can you send over a message with your VIN and estimated mileage? I would like to look into this armrest issue on my end.

Just guessing but the soft pad is likely replaceable but would require removing the door panel.

Any member who has upgraded their front speakers could probably weigh in for you.

My MY22 still looks brand new, no issues. My elbow rest there some but not always. I could see where that could cause an indention if that’s done all the time though being as soft as it is. There more firm in my F150

Ours is fine after almost 2 years.curious of your driving habits,do you spend a lot of time in the vehicle? Long daily commute to work? Still shouldn't have happened though.....

Hey Glen -- a picture really doesn't show much. The divot is something you feel. Once you remove your arm the vinyl mostly flattens out, but the place where I put my elbow is MUCH softer than the surrounding foam.

Not seeing that on mine. But I only have 8,200 miles in 13 months.

Related anecdote you can ignore:
I previously took ownership of my father's Dodge Stratus over a decade ago when income was tighter and I was younger and stupider. He had owned it ten years at the point. Due to being an engineer, he wore dress shoes every day to work and had a 45-mile roundtrip five days a week. As a result, hit literally wore a divot into the floor down to the metal where he kept the heel of his shoe while driving. I have never been able to accomplish the same despite keeping my last vehicle for over 140,000 miles.

I don't use the arm rest, but I have the same type of divot in my console lid. It's thin crappy foam unfortunately.
