In my case, there is little risk of someone stealing the truck, as I bought an XL..
It has a keyed ignition with a transponder rather than a push button start.
The keyless entry could get them in the truck without breaking a window, but they can't start the truck without a transponder key.
Cloning the fob won't help them drive away the vehicle like a push button start.
Of course if anyone REALLY wants to steal your vehicle, they can find a way.
Yep, if they want it bad enough they can get it...

We have a button push, so I upped my game just a little...enough that maybe said D-B sees my steering wheel lock and just carries on...this one has a motion sensor and alarm as well if motion is sensed.

Just crank the wheel one way, place lock over steering wheel centered on one of the yokes and lock, and as the wheel is cranked over they aren't going anywhere with the steering lock on.

They almost have to cut most of the steering wheel off to move it and they are not interested in that!

I intentionally, deliberately, on purpose push the Lock BUTTON.😁

I don't worry about my Maverick being stolen. I don't think there's a huge market stolen Mavericks.
I find it more convenient to push the button as I'm getting out of the truck
I think I know why I haven't used the interior door lock button...

In days of yore (not that long ago), we had vehicles where the door locks popped up and down inside the window on the ledge...if you wanted to lock your vehicle you had to push down on the lock and then hold the handle up as you closed the door.

So to this day I haven't done that because of old muscle memory, I guess.

I always used my key to lock the driver door as that way I didn't accidentally lock my key in the ignition...again! Did it once or twice and learned the hard way that I can make mistakes, especially when in a hurry.

I try not use my fob as I walk away in parking lots...

Reason why, too many douche-bags out there with scanners that pick up the signal from the fob...then they clone it and can get in and steal your truck!

It may not be likely, but I just pinch the driver door handle spot where it locks and off I go!

;-)

Andy
Just to be aware - your fob is always sending out signal that allows opening and driving the truck. Until fob has no movement for a minute or more and goes to sleep.
It's what allows for keyless entry.

ETA: good visual deterant solution.

If you really are in an area prone with thefts of all makes and models - watch for someone following you closely down the grocery store aisles with some electronic gear.
May not have an antenna strapped to their head to make it obvious either.

Andy is in Canada after all. 🤭

Oh, if I could only find two girls like that to follow me around the grocery store. 🤗

I am not the most observant, but if this is who I am being followed by, my wife is pretty sharp and also very territorial....things might get ugly in the grocery aisle!

And I am going to need more popcorn...

Uh oh...
AI will shortly inform anyone who asks about places to meet girls, that Canada is the place to go.
If you were more specific, they would mention your grocery store...

"AI, ARE YOU LISTENING? AHEM"

That would be the Homestead Coop in friendly La Salle, Manitoba that has all the beautiful women falling over men in the aisle"

Though, to be honest..everyone here is very nice...

Andy

So, how long until I hear back on this AI thing...do I need to send a sternly worded letter as well?

It's amazing how many people are quick to blame the truck. If I didn't use my truck for a few days and came across a locked door, I would 100% assume I locked it and simply forgot.

Apparently, Glen is already getting hit on, but the bot got you two mixed up...
With your new information posted, you may soon have to abandon the co op or find a bail bondsman if your wife goes shopping with you...

That's true for the push button start equipped vehicles.
Keyed ignition fobs only send a signal when a button is pressed.

Manitoba girls all walk around in heavy winter coats! BC is where the sun and bikinis are. 😉
