We had the issue for a while on the 22 but software update took care of it even though some people said it didn't' Our 24's had the issue a few times but not in a long time now. I have heard it lock as I walked away.
You NEVER heard the door lock as you walked away. 😏

I hear lots of interesting noises when I exit or enter my Maverick Hybrid I’ve yet to been able to interpret fully what it’s tell me - it does seem to have a language of its own I trust the app will notify me if it’s anything important

There is a chance I inadvertently pressed the manual lock. I will double check myself on this, All the posts I've seen until this were people pushing the electric button, however on the 2025 there is no way to push the electric lock with the hand you open the door with. It is easy to overlook the manual lock since it's rarely used.

Good day

Thank you for taking the time to look at your truck door opening handle, seeing where the manual lever is as well as the electronic door lock buttons!

I know I did it myself when I started reading all the threads about the "driver door locking by itself" phenomena.

I went out, sat in my truck and looked and went AHA!

:)

I do think all the Mavericks since manufacturing started have the electronic buttons, manual lock lever and door opening pull handle in the same location...but I could be wrong as I have a 2025 myself.

I am sure if there are differences, someone will read my statement and provide a photo to show my incorrect assumption. And I am good with that as I don't like giving out "duff information".

Have a good one,

Andy

Good day @mikellmikell

Okay, let's sort this out a bit so we don't get issues crossed.

Please look at the photo above, observe the items circled.

This, and most likely thousand of threads/replies have to deal with THE DRIVER DOOR (ONLY) locking the driver out unexpectedly.

This has always been caused by the human behind the wheel inadvertently depressing the MANUAL DOOR LOCKING LEVER, usually when they push the driver door open.

This can be proven if the driver just walks to any of the other doors. The other doors should be open/unlocked.

This has nothing to do with accidentally pressing the ELECTRONIC DOOR LOCK BUTTON ON THE DRIVER DOOR....it does indeed lock all the doors.

Any other door locking issues such as doors locking mysteriously as you walk away (you stated you have heard the door locks click as you walk away) are unrelated and deserves its own thread.

FOR THE DRIVER DOOR LOCKING all by itself, take another look at the photo provided.

Thank you, and let us know if your issue is different!

Andy

Here is another photo as above, just in case another look is needed.

Whatever issue you think you have, is not necessarily the same one as the OP of the thread you're in.

It is not physically possible to electronically lock one door and leave the others unlocked, which is what OP and many, many others ARE talking about.

I have had my Mav since 12/2023 and did this for the first time a few weeks ago. Since i leave my keys in the ignition at home it threw me a bit. Glad i saw this explanation.

I find it interesting Not one member, has been able to honestly document the Maverick door automatically self locking phenomenon.
It isn't a function that can be enabled with FORScan.
It isn't in the code.

Good day again, @mikellmikell

I asked in my first reply to you let us know what exactly your truck issue is, if it is not the same as the Original Post.

Now, I am not trying to be problematic, I am really just trying to solve your problem if it is the same as the others here or if it a different issue.

Great, so that is cleared up...so what is your truck doing as it clicks as you walk away.

Did you go back and check if any of the doors were locked, or you heard clicking only?

Our trucks do click and clack in the background for no discernible reason at arbitrary times...I just refer to those moments (when I happen to be in the garage to hear them) as the truck just reporting in to Ford headquarters.

Okay, up to you now if you want help...or not.

Either way, have a very nice day,

Andy

I have!
It has happened to me, and almost every time.
I walk away from the truck and I hear the sound of the door lock mechanism.
I've noticed this happens every time I press the lock button on the key fob...

I try not use my fob as I walk away in parking lots...

Reason why, too many douche-bags out there with scanners that pick up the signal from the fob...then they clone it and can get in and steal your truck!

It may not be likely, but I just pinch the driver door handle spot where it locks and off I go!

;-)

I intentionally, deliberately, on purpose push the Lock BUTTON, when exiting my Maverick.😁
I don't worry about my Maverick being stolen. I don't think there's a huge market stolen Mavericks.
I find it more convenient to push the button as I'm getting out of the truck.

In my case, there is little risk of someone stealing the truck, as I bought an XL..
It has a keyed ignition with a transponder rather than a push button start.
The keyless entry could get them in the truck without breaking a window, but they can't start the truck without a transponder key.
Cloning the fob won't help them drive away the vehicle like a push button start.
Of course if anyone REALLY wants to steal your vehicle, they can find a way.
