Already too late, I think. Mob mentality has taken over. I don't expect to take delivery of my order. I fully expect the dealership to play tricks, markups, etc, in which case I'm out. The value proposition will quickly be lost.

The Mav is really nice, but not any type of "quality of life" upgrade. My old minivan eats payload for breakfast, I upgraded the rear shocks. It's cheap and paid for with plenty of power. In fact, a new Mav will set my retirement savings back a year. The Maverick isn't a game changer, this is simply a supply and demand issue.
No doubt... we won't die without our Mav. And there is something to be said about driving old reliable Honda CRV that you don't mind having someone ram a shopping cart into it.

I know Ford designed and marketed this vehicle for millennials, guys with hair buns and hipsters. Nevertheless, this is our truck. It is probably the most functional vehicle ever made and we old dudes figured this out when it was launched. It is the truck equivalent of a bucket hat, belt with a hidden money spot sewn in, belly pack and trousers that let you remove the legs with a zipper! Stop defending it when people dismiss it as a "trucklette" or call it "cute." You are only driving up the price and making it harder to get.

I'm 67 here and my FX4 spends much time here in the sandy deserted beaches of Baja. Love this truck!

32 year old Maverick owner here. It is not the sports coupe I've always dreamed of, but it is the little truck I need right now. Hybrid gas mileage is phenomenal with current gas prices. Being able to put stuff in the bed as a DIY guy and take trash to the dump is awesome. I can finally load up some furniture, appliances or building materials, without having to ask someone for a favor. If you cruise around town, you get a lot of attention. Not just guys with big trucks that occasionally haul a cooler in their bed and get 14 MPG, but also people that drive Honda Fit or a Prius. I am very happy with my truck. There are a few things that I don't really like, but I keep reminding myself what I paid for it in this current market. And if someone think this truck is a joke or embarrassing to drive, they secretly want to have one. It took every bit of 9+ months to get it but it was worth the wait. I thought I wouldn't like the power it has, being a hybrid, but it's not that bad. If Ford announces ST model and fingers crossed 2.3T with a 6 speed manual I am going to order it the same day. Hopefully gas will come down a tad by the time it arrives. Good luck to everyone waiting for one. May the 4th be with you!

Don't forget us truck gals. We love our Mav. Great vehicle at a great price but don't tell anyone.

As I previously stated, I love my Maverick! The two things that are puzzling to me are 1: I've seen a total of 4 Mavericks in the wild and 3 of those were commercial owners? and 2: I have never seen a TV ad for a Maverick? Am I the only one to notice this?

It sells itself, and Hyundai for a while was the best spokesperson for it. Stuff seems to get around faster on the net, so why advertise.

Based on this thread, you're not watching Prostate Hunters.

The older I get the more practical I get and the less I care about fashion. I do like technology and the hybrid plugs that hole. I'll do some modifications like racks for the canoes and such. Don't know if I'll ever have another V8 but I miss them a bit. Have to settle for getting intimate with my motorcycle. It likes to be tinkered with.

I guess when you get intimate and tinker with your motorcycle the way it likes, it really purrs for you!!! Be careful that the tinkering does not lead to overheating!!!;)

There was a Maverick ad on Sunday Morning with Georgie Stephinapolis 3 weeks ago.. Only one I have seen.

Those of us with Honda Elements saw it coming. Advertised for "college age group", you could camp in it, and wash it out with a garden hose...when it was released there was a waiting list for ownership from the "older fart consumers"...took me 6 months to get mine and still have it (2004-AWD)..and will keep it parked beside my Verisity Blue Maverick Hybrid. If no one noticed there are dozen and dozens of confessed Element owners on this site that have Mavericks, either kept or sold to get a Maverick in their driveways.

73 yrs old. Waiting and waiting and waiting for my loaded up Hybrid Lariat Lux. Been driving a Titanium Fusion for the last 10 years and I am locked into the gizmos (adaptive cruise is a deal braker - only available on Lariat Lux) Had my F150s in my younger days. Now I want a truck I can get into my garage for the rest of my driving days. It's like Ford called me and asked what I want them to put in a vehicle.
