Does Rotary Shifter suck?

Not a big fan . It could use more of a notch feeling when turning it to drive and back to park. It is good that it takes up less room.

Why?

Same reason I like the shifter off the side of the steering column in my truck rather than a shifter in the center. Just the mechanical feel to me. Kinda like driving a Manual is more work but I also enjoy that. Just not a fan of the knob.

The best shifter I ever had was the 5 speed stick in my 1990 Mustang 5.0.
Second best was the 6 speed stick in my 2008 Honda Civic Si.

The rotary shifter is one of my least liked features for the same reason stated in that article. Big picture, so what, the car is great in pretty all other areas.

No problems with it at all.

Zero issues here - and my wife has a Bronco Sport that uses the same style. I much prefer it to what's found in an F-150 or such. Heck, I'd prefer a column shifter to a "T-handle."

The only thing I wish the Mavericks and Bronco Sports had were paddle shifters in order to quickly downshift for engine braking, etc.

After 3 months I am starting to get used to it, but I found it awkward the first week. But I'm still no fan of the puck.
