Sure would be cool if, like EVs, there were different battery size options. Standard pkg gets you a 25 or whatever mile battery and for $4000 or whatever you get 150 mile battery that raises your avg mpg to 50.

I much prefer to not drive further from home than one full tank of gas will allow me to go and return. Being in Texas equates to needing about 1400 mile range!Been a Ford truck guy all my life:
1966 F100
1978 F250 XLT Supercrew w/dual tanks
2006 F150 XLT
2022 Maverick Lariat Hybrid (soon!)
I want to focus on the dual tanks. Just how cool would it be to have a dual tank system on the Hybrid, giving a person oh, 1000 range?
When I reserved my Area 51 in the beginning of August, I did ask my dealership if dual tanks was going to be available.
The answer was nope, and with a funny look like the kid thought I was from Mars.
So I started doing some research, and ....... my Phoenix metro area has a company that can install after market fuel systems.
Guess who I'll be talking to when I get that truck in my possession hehehe.
But curious, is this something that others have even thought of, considered, desired, or is it just me ???
Just a thought, I actually only need a 4.3 gallon tank to get from potty to pottyAssuming you're doing 100 mph (and you won't be) you'd have to drive five hours to exhaust the tank. You're going to need a break before your truck does as it is.
If you're dead set about putting in dual tanks, do it. But realize that it's not about it being practical. Realize that it's about you wanting it.
They search instead of starting a new thread.Sometimes I wonder how someone stumbles upon a one year old thread and gets it going again.
The 'Similar Threads' list at the bottom I suspect.Sometimes I wonder how someone stumbles upon a one year old thread and gets it going again.
Still have a 1996 F150 w/dual tanks. I think around 18 gallons eachHad a 1995 F150 with dual tanks. Was nice on long camping trips.
I am sure there is enough room under there to add a second tank, even 5 gallons, would get you at least 150 milesBeen a Ford truck guy all my life:
