Do you get comments on the street about your Maverick?

Yeah, when we first got our Maverick in 2022 all kinds of people would comment on it and other Maverick drivers would honk and such because there were so few of them. But now not so much.

Most of the comments I have received have been in reference to the color. I don’t know why but women seem to like this color (area 51) more than men?

About 3 weeks back, the main cook at the local diner was telling the new guy about the gas mileage on my Maverick after I had parked in front of the diner window. New guy didn’t believe a pickup could get good gas mileage. I walk in and Cook shouts to me…”He don’t believe you get over 30 gas mileage .”
I went out and got my mileage book (I track my miles for work)
“see for yourself…”
The whole dinner about 6-8 people all busted out laughing when the new cook saw the MPG. The look was just priceless! Gobsmacked!

The new cook now asks me for my MPG about once a week…every time he just shakes his head.

Very few Lariat’s. Lots of XLT’s
Rarely I see an XL and when I do they are the older cheaper FWD only versions.
I see about an equal number of Mavbrids to Ecobooster’s.

I was summoned to jury duty about 10 years ago. I showed up at the Clark county courthouse 8:00 in the morning. I got as far as "voir dire" in front of former Judge Stephanie Miley. She ask me some questions. I don't think she liked my answers and I was stricken as a possible juror.
Just for kicks. I ended up going down the next day paying for my own parking just to hear the case.
The look on the judges face was funny when she saw me sitting the gallery.

I went in for my jury duty summons this morning. At the check in window I was told that court had been cancelled for the day and there was no need for me to come back! I checked their website multiple times before I made the trip. So basically a 60 mile round trip for nothing and no reimbursement for gas! However I did enjoy the ride in my Truck!

In my experience this has come more from women than men! Me and my Wife pulled into a Sonny’s BBQ and this woman came out and was literally drooling all over my Truck! The look on my Wife’s face was priceless! Lol

Cops say the asshole did it I support the police. Round here they only arrest the guilty ones.

It’s funny…the Maverick is considered an inexpensive truck, yet I’ve gotten more comments on it than any other vehicle I’ve owned.

Not even in the same league as driving around in my Miata with the top down.

Which, in turn, doesn't compare to driving around in my '72 Eldorado Convertible with the top down!

So the Vegas cop lied to you about cops lying.

I recall a constitutional law professor commenting to us that, not only had he never come across a guilty person helping himself by talking to cops, but that he'd never seen an innocent one benefit, either!

By the time something is going to trial, it's virtually certain that one side or the other won't want a lawyer in the jury room!

("virtually", but not certain: my brother, also a lawyer, ended up on a jury--but it was a pissing contest between two law firms, each of which who couldn't conceive of nay lawyer not side with them!)

Decades ago, I was summoned in Las Vegas, and called about getting an exemption--I was a sole practitioner with one secretary, and anything more than two years would have devastated my practice.

It was the jury commissioner herself that answered. She didn't simply give me the extension, or exempt me for the moment, but actually struck me from the list! [from her end, why waste time on someone that had a 0% chance of serving on a jury?] {since then, a law change prevents exempting lawyer's and judges--yet we still end up hit with a peremptory challenge 100% of the time!}

I got My Maverick on April 15th of this year. A month or two later a couple was leaving Walmart when I was and they were from Georgia I live in Northeast,Ohio and said they Loved it and didn't recall ever seeing one in Georgia where they were from.
