Hi, My 2024 Maverick display screen using android auto sat nav is very hard to see in bright sunlight. I have tried adjusting the brightness setting and still on a bright day I can hardly see the sat nav. Does anyone else have this issue or have you corrected it, personally I think the screen should be tilted slightly down, but it is what it is. Maybe it is a setting I have to change on my phone, my 71 year old brain does not operate in a very 'techy' way! Any help is appreciated.

This is a common complaint about the screen. Some folks find it too dim and others are happy with it.

Relative to other manufacturers screens, and even other Ford screens I would agree that it is on the dimmer side but I did not find it hard to see (but I also had my windows tinted).

You can toggle it from day to night mode permanently (it has day, night, and auto modes) and see if that helps. I also consider my screen to be washed out in sunlight - it's a very cheap screen for a very cheap vehicle.

I was thinking of possibly just taping a 1" cardboard sunshade on top of the display, but haven't done that yet. Amazon sells a gazillion of these - I wonder if Mabett sells one for the Maverick?

There's 2 brightness settings, one in the digital menu and another that's a dial on the left side of your steering wheel iirc. Traveling right now and can't get a picture for you.

One of my first adds was a tempered glass screen protector. I have not had any issues seeing the screen.

Just ordered a visor for the screen from Amazon, as you said there are a multitude of them for sale, hope I chose the right one but the cost is minimal.

Does anyone else have this issue
At a Mav meetup, I tested the screens of all model years and trims. On every single one of them, the screen would not brighten past 50%. No other Ford models have this issue. I had a Transit Connect (sibling to the Mav) and that screen was perfect. It's the one real problem I have with the Mav.

I keep mine in night mode all the time. I've not the greatest eyesight, but haven't had too many problems with the android auto navigation using night mode.

A stretch, but something I fell victim to...

When I brought my Maverick home a few weeks ago, the screen was next to impossible to see in bright sunlight, and not all that better at night. Dim, at best. I adjusted all the brightness settings and nothing helped. Then one day, while driving down the road, I noticed what looked like a seem on one edge of the display. Taking a closer look at my next stop, and I realized that the dealer had never pealed off the screen protector the factor put on for transit to the dealer! I peeled that off, and suddenly, it was a whole new experience. Much brighter and readable.

Just a thought for you...

Dimmer in CarPlay and I would assume AA as well, then it is in other modes. At least that is the way I am seeing it. Seems like something dims the screen a bit when when going into these modes.

I would hope Ford would do a patch for this but not holding my breath.

@Jeff D. It appears yours is a SYNC3 unit. Different animal than the one we have in the XL and XLT.

Someone a while ago was complaining that everything was dim... until he took his hat of the light sensor in the middle of the dash.

I have only had the Maverick for a little over one month. The only complaint I have is the center console is so dim its nearly useless. Brightness is half the display on our Ford Flex. Have brightness slider all the way up. And yes, you can increase the brightness slightly by using the panel brightness control. However, when it is all the way up, the spedo display is so bright, it burned all the hair off my chest!

I have the same complaint on my 2023 Maverick...I've given up using the screen altogether, and that is a pain! Our 2017 Prius display is always clear as day. Does anyone know of a fix?
