If it is just occasionally for off road use, just buy a dummy seatbelt clip from Amazon. They sell just the metal clip part with a little handle on it so you can buckle it without an actual seatbelt attached.

Serious question: why do you not need a seatbelt in that case?

“While off-road”, just clip the seatbelt in and sit on top of it. Done!

The dealer actually has to provide an extension for overweight people for free, a safety issue.

Many years ago my father bought a couple of seat belt extenders for his hunting truck to keep the chime from dinging (That tells the truck that something is in the seat belt connection). On my hyb Mav, I fastened all the rear belt then did the key on, seatbelt fasten/unfasten trick and it turned off the chimes and visual reminder on the dash. The trick for that is make sure your e-brake is off and your feet are off the accelerator and brake, and that all doors are closed before you start.

So did you keep the rear belts fastened and then did the key on, seatbelt fasten/unfasten trick while you did one of the front seats????? Or do you mean you just keep the rear belts fastened ALL the time?

I got mine to work. Just have to start with the truck completely off as in turn off and get out and get back in.

This reminds me, I need to do this again. A while back I did this and didn't realize it worked the first time I did it, so I did it again and re-enabled it lol.

The instructions mention the seatbelt sign blinking as confirmation when its done, and I was assuming it was the digital seatbelt message that would give me some kind of indicator, however, it is the classic read seatbelt indicator that blinks for confirmation when its complete.
