Disable Gas Saver Feature (Auto Start Stop)?

I only turned off the seatbelt warning screen and left the warning chime. I don't mind the chime because I do want everyone belted in.

What are the steps to shut off the screen notification only.

How may I permanently disable (or at least temporarily disable) the feature that shuts the engine at red lights? I hate having to shut it off manually every time I start my vehicle. Is there a menu setting which allows me to do this without having to press the button below the shifter knob?

I do it automatically without thinking after 3 years but was a pain.

I jut push the button. Not the worst part of my day.

I do it automatically without thinking after 3 years but was a pain.

After 3 and 1/2 years I still forget sometimes. I would prefer that it defaulted to off and let me decide when to use it!

I am on the same page with you on the engine shutoff feature. You’ll just have to wait until your battery is at a charge level where by your engine will no longer shut off. It took my Maverick about 6 months. The same annoyance I have with the “Collision Alert”, which also cannot be turned off permanently.

The first section turns off the Seatbelt info screen and chime. There are links in the middle under "EDIT: ALTERNATIVE CODINGS" that will turn off the seatbelt info screen but keeps the chime.

The problem is, is that this is one way to increase gas mileage. At this point manufacturers are running out of ways to cut gas consumption in an ICE. One day the Dinosaur will be put to rest despite the push back from the oil industry and it's paid off followers and supporters.

I believe that the ICE is making great strides in increasing mileage and power Without shutting off the engine when stopped. This stuff is just BS.
For example, I have an AWD hybrid and it gets great mileage. The move should be to hybrids.

I use sport mode quite often when driving around town to keep the RPMs up... more fun and more battery charging. Also, no auto start/stop. Since I only drive 2K miles a year, the increased fuel cost is negligible.

The Hybrid charges the 12v battery from the high voltage batteries. No alternator. The electric motor charges the ev battery.

This kind of question and all the comments on both sides of Forscan make me think how grateful I am that I got comfortable with computers much deeper than just browsing the net.

Now, with the ease I feel using technology to manipulate deep dark system setting, I can happily turn it all off and live like it was 1980 once again!
