I made my own fog light solution using DD lights and the steering column was where I mounted. Maybe when I’m not lazy down the road I’ll swap over the headlight switch panel. Good enough for now though

Thanks for the photo!! That's the spot i was thinking would be easy, and convenient to operate.
I felt around the OEM light switch area and it seemed like it would be a lot of work to try to mount in that area without disassembling the dash.
Thanks again for the picture.

you bet! That spot is so easy to bring the wiring through the fire wall gasket and run up into the column and tap the hole for the switch. My whole project was done in under an hour and a half

how did you even get it there? Did you have to disassemble the column b/c it seems like a lot would be in the way.

Actually that spot on the column has nothing behind it and you can actually reach up behind that piece of plastic molding without taking anything apart!!

tapped a hole in the firewall gasket. From there, wiring runs right up into the steering column unobstructed. You can feel a blank spot on the column with nothing behind it to tap the hole for the switch. I just made sure to have the steering wheel fully extended when I ran the wires so that the length was enough. Piece of cake!

Matt, you should send those photos to Diode Dynamics so they can use them in their install videos.

Added my own switch lower right. One above it is blue and will be for ambient lighting.

HI, I got a similar switch here, but was confused on the wiring (other than the chassis common) - where do the other wires go on the back? There's 5 slots and I only have 3 spades.

Hopefully I can figure out how to make the cornering function work.

Have this all set up. You have to wire left and right to pins 6 & 7 individually.

When you put your left signal on left fog light turns off, right signal right fog light.

IGNORE: So not true cornering as the light doesn’t come on with the steering wheel input but shuts off with the turn signal.

I'm about to do this project, have the f150 switch but only ordered one of the DU2Z-14474-DA wires.

Trying to imagine this setup and if I want to wait another week or two to do this project if I have to order a second wire for the BCM.. If the left fog lamp turns off with the left turn signal I'm not clear what the benefit is? Otherwise both fog lamps just stay on without "cornering" enabled and I'd have visibility in the direction I'm turning right?

Were you able to hook up the second wire from the BCM without taking everything apart again?

I ran both wires to the fog lights when I initially installed and added the second wire for the BCM afterwards.

I was hoping for the lights to come on when the fogs were off for cornering. I guess they have it set up similar to the head light turning off when signalling.

Haven’t dug further in Forscan to see if there is a way for it to work that way.

Thanks for clarifying.. Sounds like I might skip that part then
