I don’t see what light bulbs were replaced…. I mean he added fog lights where there were none
I am still surprised how many people feel the need to post in other peoples threads about how they don’t understand why people make changes to their vehicles
It seems most (obviously not all) also seem to be driving XL Hybrids….. or maybe hybrids in general
I don’t see a lot of ecoboost owners trying to rain on peoples parades

It's fine, his "mod" list includes dealer installed mud flaps.

[EDIT:] I literally went looking for positive things this guy said and I found his mods list LITERALLY include a steering wheel cover and smoked window vents!

Totally agree it’s worth it.

I did mine yesterday. The hardest part is running the wiring neatly and making it look clean in the engine bay.

I'd like to see how people are setting it up inside for switching on/off.

I ditched the harness that came with the kit and just harvested the wire loom. Thanks to @Vtec87pr1, I spent $30 on an F-150 headlight switch, enabled fog lights in FORScan, and added a couple pins to the BCM connector. This way the install looks factory on the inside. Stock looking switch, dash lights illimate. Only had to run two wires through the firewall on the passenger side, which was a piece of cake with a coat hanger. They come into the engine bay behind the brake booster and I routed them around the coolant reservoir and down through the wheel well near the factory harness that runs to the bumper. I trimmed the excess wire seen in the picture and added a Deutsch connector that's secured to the truck body, which will make future bumper removal as easy as unplugging two connectors instead of one.

Im sure Ford will add them sooner or later, probably as a Lariat only option. My Suburban is my hauler of broken hot rods, new projects and boats. I have a '26 Sleekcraft that will be painted to match the Suburban soon.



Thank you. I was a little concerned about the yellow/HPR contrast but that worry is gone now. Tires are BF Good rich 235/55R19's

The kit comes with a roughly 5/8" on/off switch with an LED. I mounted mine directly below my headlight switch.



Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to ditch the tow hooks in favor of these fog lights. There's always jjc-llc.com if you want to keep the top hooks.



If you're near SW Utah I'd be more than happy to help you. It's really pretty easy.



The yellow fogs were a pretty big stretch for me.

Yep, a piece of cake. Sorry I don't detail installing tailgate stickers, wind deflectors, a center console organizer or things that don't require tools or abilities that you may consider "mods."

What makes you think i care what anyone thonks about me going down the road? I build my teucks, cars, hot rods and boats to suit ME, not you or anyone else.

So light bulb thing - ummm, lets call it functionality and safety. Theres rarely fog where I live but there I hunt predators year round. These lights illuminate the sides of the road where predators like to hang out at night. The yellow light helps me spot and identify them better than white light does.

Enjoy your stickers, pal. I'll enjoy customizing my vehicles as i please. God bless America and capitalism.



I wish I had remembered his work before I cut my dash. Oh well, I can always buy a switch and replace the panel.

I installed my kit too.....I just wish there was a way to shut the fog lights off with the high beams on. In most states, mine included, it's actually illegal for your fog lights to be on with the high beams, otherwise a great kit. I did use a smaller 12 mm lighted switch, not the big one that DD sent in the kit.

if you do it the way i did mine with the bcm . the fogs will turn off when you turn high beam on.

So far I have figured out that You will have to wire each light up to the bcm for individual fogs to light when using turn signal. Bcm has left and right fog +
good luck, I haven’t ordered my kit yet but plan to do the fog/turn mod.

Awesome. That’s what I figured. I’m going to run two wires from the BCM 6 & 7 to the engine and figure out how to splice them into the DD harness.

I received my @Diode Dynamics fog lights last weekend but just barely had time to install them.

Install was a piece of cake and took me about 4 hours. The video instructions are exceptional.



HIGHLY recommend this upgrade for all Maverick owners. Light output is fantastic. It took a little creativity to get the light where I wanted it because I'm so low, but man does it light up my street!

Definitely phone a friend to help you hold the bumper. I thought, "I'm a bad ass, I can do it." The bumper promptly got away from me and this lip tore. Auto body grade exopy to the rescue.

My multi-tool worked GREAT for making straight cuts and tight corners.

Headlights and fogs lights on.

Headlights on, fog lights off. Fogs have a neat ambient marker light built in when they're switched off.

I was really worried about the yellow against HPR, but it turned out really nice.

I could have told you a year ago the yellow goes great with Hot Pepper (also biased)

I thought I had read that the kit was supposed to only work with low beams, but mine work with high and low. You could always build a quick relay to disable the brights... actually, that may be the red "disable" wire they indicated in the directions.

I was going to use the Red lead to disable when the High Beams are on, but in checking the wiring to the right side headlamp, the Grey one is the Head light "enable" for the Fogs, the black is Ground, then there are 2 more wires, a brown and a green, both have voltage on all of the time. I need to do some more digging into how the High Beams are "triggered", I just ran out of time on Sunday afternoon/evening when I did my install. I was working outside, and needed to get it buttoned up as rain was going to be moving in soon. I'll post more information on the "Orange Lead" method once I figure it out, (if I can figure it out).

Did you use the F-150 switch, and ForScan? I am seriously thinking about going that route, but I don't have ForScan, so I need to get that first.

I have to agree with what someone else said, I don't usually like lowered trucks. Just not my thing. But.. that really looks nice! Our HPR just went into production on the tracker today! My husband wanted the yellow fog lights. We go to work at all hours of the day and night and want extra critter spotting lights!
Not sure we are really up to doing all that to get them though!
I would be ok with the cutting and removing the bumper, it is the electrical stuff that scares the crap out of me!
