Yep, yes to both. I know I can enter up on the screen, but I also do other things with the phone too when I pick it up…look at a text or something of course when I’m stopped at the light and yes, my iPhone 16 has the braided cable. 🙂
My truck reads my texts and you can enter a location by voice command. This is with android auto.

I'm with everyone else- the space you save could fit at least 2 more grocery bags.

On the plus side N can really increase mpg!!!!
* Queue someone screen shotting the owners manual saying that you shouldn't put the truck in neutral while it was moving * :D

That actually brings up a wonderful childhood memory of my Dad in his Oldsmobile land yacht, putting it in neutral and coasting down some windy roads, while trying to tell all of us four boys that somehow we ran out of gas and he had to keep the momentum up to make it home. We would never make it all the way home and that car would mysteriously start moving again once we got to slow. He would only ever do this if Mom was not with us and I wonder how us 80s kids ever made it out alive lol

Queue the techs who will tell you why you shouldn't do this in a modern car... something, something about the transmission cooler not running while in neutral or something like that.

Really dislike the dial shifter on my 2025 Lariat, can it be changed ?
All it takes is money and a plan.
I'm not in love with the dial shifter but it's there and I accept it. Used to it now.

My only issue with the dial is that it looks dumb. Because it has definitive clicks and doesn't freewheel it's actually just fine to use, but still lol

Well yeah....I use the Maps on my Iphone....not the one through Ford. It does display on the screen after I hit car play. If that's what you are asking.
I don't have an iPhone so excuse my ignorance but does car play not allow you to interact with the apple maps application through the infotainment screen? Once I'm in android auto I don't touch the phone any more.

I do it every once in a while so I can scrape the surface rust off the rotors on my hybrid :p

on the hybrid the dial is fine in that changing from P to R to D and so forth definitely has to be computer controlled. Even if it was a traditional looking shifter it would be. I also don't step on the brake when I go from R to D which is pretty fun.

It does seem like there should be some amount of additional step to get yourself out of drive but I don't know what it would be. Other changes are less likely to happen accidentally. Now that I think of it I've never tried to take it out of P without my foot on the brake. I assume my foot has to be on the brake, right???

Apparently he’s aware, but “does other things” with his phone besides maps…

You had a good Dad!

So what happens if you put the shifter in R when driving. I’m afraid to touch the dial when driving. Has anyone accidentally done this? Can it go to the R when driving or does in not let you go to that spot? And I certainly assume it doesn’t actually go ‘into reverse’ when driving.Thanks.

Would seem like alot of time effort and money to accomplish not much. Give it a chance, our maverick is the first vehicle I've owned with a dial shifter. We got used to it.

Doesn't the hybrid have an electric cooler pump? External to trans? Otherwise gear set remains spinning with all planets disengaged? Guess would depend on trans pump drive gear location? ????

Like the dial shifter. Spin CCW for Park then one click CW for Reverse or spin CW for Drive. Really like the Auto Park from any drive setting when the Engine Stop button is pushed. Just wish Ford would fix the Maverick to return all driver setting back to the last setting before the Maverick was turned off. If Maverick was in ECO mode stay in ECO mode. After phone call is hung-up return to last Information Screen before the phone e call
