When you folks on the thread talk about taking it to the dealership for an oil change are we talking the actual service dept at the local Ford dealership or the Quick Lane facility that's part of our dealerships around me?
Quick Lane.

Does the Mav have a panel under the engine/trans?

I have been doing all of my oil changes for the last....well never mind - a VERY LONG time. I haven't been able to look under my Mav (hurt my back) but I had to ask about the panel.
I know the Honda I had used 14 screws to attach the panel which had to be removed to get at the drain & filter, plus it was only $30 bucks so I let them do it.

I used to rotate the tires and write the date and new location on the back side of the tire.
The LOBO tires are HUGE - not sure I could lift then onto the lugs anymore (I'm 79 y/o). Thinking of getting one of those hydraulic tire lifters they use to move vehicles around.
Swing by Discount/America Tire and get your tires rotated for FREE even if you didn't buy tires from them. If you had them mounted/balanced your tires, then you get FREE rotation + balancing for the life of the tires.

Dealer service techs really have problems...First oil change at dealer put the oil cover back on crooked and new next oil change independent oil change place had to spend 1/2 hour fixing stripped threads where the Ford dealer reinstalled the cover crooked.

Took advantage of a Ford dealer special oil change with a free tire rotation when a warranty item was being done. They checked my air filter but put the cover back on cock-eyed letting air bypass the filter..fotunately I caught it when I got home...But will never use Ford Dealership for any kind of service again.

We had a list like that at the dealer I worked for it was called a oil service every 10k, techs would get about a hour and half and do the job in half that or less, took more time to find the car in the lot. Only 3 parts oil, filter, very small bottle of condensed washer fluid, 250 bucks 10 years ago, did they do everything on that list? maybe they checked tire pressure because it was easy to get caught on that one. People paid it every day.
I always mark my tires because they don't rotate tires when paid to do it.
Dealers have to pay for that Italian marble floors somehow.
I loved erasing marks I found on tires.

I pay 80 bucks for ford filter and oil and rotate tires if you want, not bad for NY, LI. For me don't pay to do it yourself at 73. Every 5k about once a year. Now have a new hybrid maybe 6k running at about 50% electric ⚔.

There are some ethical, well run dealerships, probably the minority, but still, a blanket statement like yours is a disservice to the good guys. Imagine if someone said the same of your profession?

Sorry, but they made their bed, and now must lay in it!

I have been getting my oil changed every 5,000 miles by a local Ford dealership to use my Ford points and have documentation incase of any warranty issues. In the past I have always changed my own oil. I've had absolutely no issues with the 2.0 ecoboost so I decided to do my own oil change at 30,000 miles (plus I had no more Ford points). The dealership I purchased the truck from uses a Quick Lane to do oil changes. I purposely have been going to a different dealership that does oil changes in their service department. I just want to say that I was pleasantly surprised to find that NONE of the screws holding the cover were missing or stripped. The drain plug looked brand new and not rounded at all. The drain plug and oil filter were not over tightened and fairly easy to remove. There are many horror stories about Ford dealerships and oil changes, but felt that I had to say that there are good Ford dealerships and service centers! I do want to post a picture of the oil filter the dealership installed. I'd never seen that part number before. It looked very similar to the FL-910S that I installed.

My ā€˜24 lariat hybrid is now 1 year old, with 5,800 total miles.

so sorry I missed the dealer oil specials two weeks ago, advertised $68, not sure what all was included.

Today, a 5K service (which don’t exist for this vehicle), $200.

Included tire rotation.

Service writer didn’t know anything about deep sleep, ā€˜just need to drive more’.

Wanted a dealer service for 1st oil change. Will be shopping next year!

You need to be changing oil a minimum of every 6 months.
