My ‘24 lariat hybrid is now 1 year old, with 5,800 total miles.

so sorry I missed the dealer oil specials two weeks ago, advertised $68, not sure what all was included.

Today, a 5K service (which don’t exist for this vehicle), $200.

Included tire rotation.

Service writer didn’t know anything about deep sleep, ‘just need to drive more’.

Wanted a dealer service for 1st oil change. Will be shopping next year!

So if an oil change is 70 bucks (29 bucks at walmart) it looks like the only thing they did for the 200 dollar service other than look at stuff is put some wiper fluid in. 130 bucks for some wiper fluid. Am I missing something here?

We had a list like that at the dealer I worked for it was called a oil service every 10k, techs would get about a hour and half and do the job in half that or less, took more time to find the car in the lot. Only 3 parts oil, filter, very small bottle of condensed washer fluid, 250 bucks 10 years ago, did they do everything on that list? maybe they checked tire pressure because it was easy to get caught on that one. People paid it every day.
I always mark my tires because they don't rotate tires when paid to do it.
Dealers have to pay for that Italian marble floors somehow.

Also took my '24 in to dealer for first oil change around 5500 miles.
$125. Just oil & filter. No rotation. Took almost 2 hrs. That's too much and too long.
Next time either one of those 5-minute oil changes or I get my hands dirty again ....

Tires definitely rotated. I had a non-repairable sidewall puncture last month. Matching replacement easy to spot in new location.

I used about 2200 points from my 4000 points. Otherwise the Oil change and tire rotation would of cost $110. I will probably use the points left to do one more change at dealer. I waited until 6500 miles which was only 4500 of actual engine miles. I will have dealer do one more, after that I will do my own oil changes. Dealerships are always way too expensive. Except for my Honda Accord. They emailed me special $30 oil changes for 10 years. Would of cost me more to do it myself.

I get it that some people are injured or elderly and cannot do their own oil changes or tire rotations or other basic, easy maintenance. But I sure hope no one buys into the idea that a dealership disservice center doing ANYTHING to your vehicle is a good idea, especially if you have to pay for it (warranty repairs and recalls are a gamble; they are "free", but they will likely break or ruin something in the process, but at least THAT would be covered by another trip, and then another after they mess something up repairing the thing they messed up, at infinitum).
Anecdote; my elderly mother used to insist on taking her X5 to BMW for any repairs or maintenance. They stripped the oil drain threads during a $400 oil change, big puddle under it the next day. They insisted that they didn't do anything, that she must have stripped those threads, as any 90 y/o person would do when crawling under their car and wrenching on it, which they do all the time, but they would be happy to replace the oil pan for $2500. She started going to an independent shop after that and has zero problems, and it costs 1/4 as much, using the same OEM parts. (my brother, with actual mechanical skill and a degree to prove it, tapped her oil pan to a slightly larger but common drain plug size)
