My dealer performed the SSM 53801 two weeks ago on my 24 Lariat hybrid. It made no difference toward resolving the battery saver mode issue that I've been dealing with for over a year. They finally agreed the battery was probably sulfated. So I finally convinced them to replace it with an AGM under warranty, however they are hitting me with a $100 "copay". I do get a three year warranty on the AGM and a refund if Ford ever issues a recall on the wet cells. So if this actually solves the problem for good then I'll have to consider this a success story.

The AGM I got from Amazon was $140 and no waiting at the dealership for 4 hours. Been a bit over a year now and zero issues.

They always give me a loaner to drive so I don't wait for warranty work....ever. And I get the 3 year warranty with free replacement and they reprogram it for the appropriate battery. I love Amazon as much as the next guy but I don't think they offer all of that.

Question, would jumping another battery directly to the battery get it started?

Get yourself a new AGM battery and save yourself any further hassles and inconveniences fooling around with the OEM battery. I (and many other hybrid owners) had many deep sleep and dead battery problems to the point of taking up most our time trying to "fix" it with trickle chargers, pulling fuses, etc. Waste of time and effort. Since I replaced the wet cell battery with the AGM, I've had zero electrical/start up issues. Here's a link to the Amazon page that has the battery that will fit your Maverick. Install is super easy and requires no modification.

That link to Amazon says none of the batteries listed fit a Maverick.

As a condition of sale, I got my dealer to (eventually) install an AGM battery they had on hand, likely what they use in MY25.

States..."Does not fit 2024".
Yes, I was given a small amount of runaround and squawking, that neither this nor any other AGM was 'listed' for a MY24 hybrid. Maintenance dept mgr surmised it would be just fine, except as it wasn't listed it wouldn't be under warranty.

Perhaps 7 weeks later I got one sleep mode message; that has been the extent of my 12V drama so far.

Wow! Glad I got a ‘22 EB….Dealer(not who I purchased from) replaced the battery in my driveway about 6 months ago.

No, if its outfitting 3.4v even after trying to charge it that means some sort of internal failure. New battery and youll be back to normal.

yep - indeed does imply internal damage... can at least pull the battery and take it to O'reillys or where ever have them put it on their diagnostic and get that verified but yeah a new battery is the way to go.
