Besides EB - wrong model.

I Was just responding to a couple people above who said when you work remotely, which to me is at home, are more productive and I was just throwing in my two cents that's all.

I have had my Lariat for 3 weeks. I keep my keys in it in the garage. No issues.
Should work fine, in that the fob is supposed to go to sleep after not moving for one minute.

OK someone in thread said it wasn't necessarily a Hybrid only thing so I wondered.
An early production run of EB's did not get the AGM batteries the others got.
Not only FLA, but a defective batch of FLA batteries.
That's the EB battery recall.

So totally different reason for issues.

Do you have actual studies to back up your statement or is it just based on your personal biases?

Here's an article on Forbes.com saying that remote work is more productive

Here's an article on the Bureau of Labor Statistics on numbers that they crunched

Productive employees in office are productive employees working remotely (even moreso, according to the real world numbers). The opposite is true as well. Therefore, good employees are good employees and bad employees are bad employees.

Feel free to source your opinions with studies and not merely anecdotes.

I have been on this planet about 70 years and I do know a couple things. One is that ANYONE can make or come up with a study these days. And those studies may or may not be based in facts. You must realize most "studies" are done using some sort of grant (usually government funded), but not always. Others are funded by lobby and special interest groups. Universities are some of the largest recipients of those tax dollars and they will give you a study tilted any way you want if the cash is right. Otherwise you may never get another grant/study! A good example of this is the studies funded by the food industry early 1970's. The WANTED to show how important it was for people to eat healthy. These studies led to the government coming up with the "food pyramid" The bottom 4 items (billed as healthy building blocks) were pasta, white bread, cereal, and rice 6-11 servings. Note: ALL HIGH LEVEL CARB People got fat, people got OBESE. The government insisted to eat even more, the people are now pretty much all fat and obese. Duh. You can do your own Google look-up on this, but it is true. The government is responsible for all most of our obesity and diabetes today. All because of several studies. By the way, they finally took down that pyramid and have "moved on", at a high rate of speed.

My nephew is a government employee in the SES (Senior Executive Service). These are people at top levels of government, just below Congressional appointees. He woke on the east coast in a job in Defense/contracting requiring top secret clearances. The last administration decided that his department should work from home (most, not all). He has around 2,000 people he is responsible for. To this day, he STILL has several hundred that will not report back to work, even though he has ordered them to. He is confident the current administration will get them ALL back soon. He told me those guys working from home did not get nearly the results and outcomes needed to fulfill the missions he was responsible for. He was sick of it, and the union along with the Biden people refused to budge and at one point he was about to get fired because of the lack of production from his employees. I ran a company in the U.S. Army (Company First Sergeant) of about 250 soldiers, Privates up to senior Sergeants. If I had a soldier not show up for work, I could impose the following:

  • Restriction: 14 days
  • Extra duty:14 days
  • Forfeiture of pay: 7 days basic pay
  • Reduction in Grade: E-4 or below may be reduced one grade. No reduction for E-5 or above.
A few days of painting rocks and cleaning barracks would usually suffice and if said soldier continued to no-show, I would report an AWOL, and a discharge (fired) would be initiated.

Time for these work at home people to get back to work. The employer did not hire them to (as one of the studies suggest) , to help with the home life, bolster "work/life balance, "increase in job satisfaction", "support mental and physical health", a comfortable work environment including improved workspaces with comfortable, ergonomic furniture are important. If people don't like they job or work conditions, they need to move along. Period. Now, if Ford will get back to that office and start developing software (4 years overdue) for my Maverick! If uncooperative, get them pumping out about 75 pushups and a 5 mile road march with rucks and full gear. Heh heh.

Thanks for the recognition of Army time served. Appreciate your feedback because I have followed several of your other threads and find your opinions informative, interesting and mostly useful. I try not to vilify scientists (and others), but on occasion, I can step out of the batters box. As for scientists, I agree with a larg percentage of them when I can figure out where they are coming from. Problem is, science changes (most, not all) faster than most people change socks. What is true today can easily be bogus tomorrow, but hey, that's they way it goes sometimes. I have been around very educated and very under educated individuals my whole life. I have a simple "AS" associate science, 2 year degree. My take on that is educated and smart are definitely not the same thing. I think most of us can agree on that. I've met some pretty consistently stupid people with big college educations from very prestigious schools. And, I have seen some non- high school graduates who were way past most college educated ones. I was assigned to a recruiting gig by the Army in 1978. A kid came in with a 9th grade education. At that time NO non graduates were allowed other than a couple times a year the Army would allow one or two from each state to enlist and they would secretly track them throughout their time in to see how they performed. Thing is, they had to score much higher on the entrance exam (ASVAB) than most high school grads. This kid scored a 99 percentile! (max you can) Most high school grads would score 40-60, a 50 being an average student. The job classifier (guidance counselor) heard him and asked him if he would take the optional language battery test. He maxed it. Fast forward about three years later (after he graduated top out of The Defense Language Institute) He had completed his GED, attended and graduated from college, applied and got accepted to officer school. When he visted me I whipped a salute on that young man. His parents said he had dropped out to help support them (medical issues) and neighbors assumed he was lazy and stupid. His parents kept in touch with me for many years as their son finally retired a full bird Colonel. My moral of the story I learned is things aren't always as they seem. Any who, thanks for the reply back and hang in there. Retirement, you will find , is the best job you will ever have and you are going to love it! Everyday is Saturday... or Sunday....

I took my '23 XLT Hybrid to the local Ford dealer for the 'Rear View Camera' recall and mentioned the deep-sleep concern as well. They apparently applied a 'fix'. "Reprogram and update the TCU". Here's the work order:

I haven't lost dome lights or received deep sleep messages since (but did 3x the week before the 'fix'). No idea if the 'fix' just tells the truck not to react to a nearly-dead battery anymore, or if it actually corrects the battery charging/management scheme.

That sounds like good news. I read an article stating that Ford was coming out with a fix for flat battery issue. I didn't give it much relevance because of so many battery issues.
Article said fix due in April.

Since the TCU is merely the Tele Communications Unit and not where the Battery Management System functions - no scheme change.
14H076 is part of the part number.

Unless you were getting battery drains overnight, the TCU is probably operating exactly the same as it was, since no updates to it have been a part of any recalls in the past, specifically mentioned, maybe it was updated along with another main module in the past. Wondering if they merely reset it, and then had to reprogram the settings so it would talk to your account again for Fordpass to work.

What probably did happen doing a module reprogram and ACM update for camera - battery charged up.

Give it a month.

My head hurts trying to fathom this battery "problem". I have a '23 XLT that hasn't had any of the problems I see here. Mine was one of the last '23s to be built (before switch to '24). Should I be looking for this?
