Windshield alignment pins is one source. Pin removal can solve this issue.

Another is the tweeter speaker grills/covers tapping again the pillars. Felt tape on the speaker cover side of the contact area has been recommended to solve that.

Some also have a noise coming from the base of the windshield dash area. Foam strip/weatherstripping down in-between the windshield and dash seems to work for that one.
I have tried to remove these grill covers and absolutely cannot get them to come off. I used a plastic trim removal took and it left little marks all along the edge until I gave up. Can you advise how to remove?

They have a tab that slots into the pillars. Pillars need to be removed to allow the grill to be unslotted. Also the area around this slot is the spot to apply the felt.

I have not done this myself yet though.

As adjusted for inflation and the maverick being the price point of what a model A was , I think the small noises of the model A were not recalled , so I would guess to say if it isn’t a direct safety concern of fire , collision without lights or hybrid engine grenading or shutting off at random times , it’s probably not getting a recall.
My tremor has a metallic bracket sound sometimes at freeway speeds low and to the right behind glovebox .
Probably have to hang upside down in passenger seat whilst someone drives and try to find it . Probably exasperated from the mud terrains .
got to finish the stereo this week and shouldn’t be able to hear it after that!

Does yours sound like a marble running into plastic in the dash area? That's what mine has, and my dad's lariat has the same sound.

Yes! Sounds like a stone rolling inside the dashboard plastic. I tried putting pressure in the defrost vents, but sound comes back no matter what.

Its probably the windshield pins. My dealer already took my windshield off twice to "readjust" the pins but the noise keeps coming back. I am going to go to a different dealer, because the readjustment does not work for more than a few days.

The dealer told me another Maverick owner had the same issue with brand new truck and it is a factory install problem. Ford needs to recall this. It is unacceptable especially for a brand new truck.
Good morning. Are you still experiencing this dashboard noise concern? If so, I would like to look into it on my end. Please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer.

Is this the noise you're referring to? I'm looking for someone who has had this problem and resolved it. I took mine to the dealer, but installing felt adhesive between the dash/defroster vent hasn't helped.

Thats almost the same sound I'm hearing. Mine isn't nearly as pronounced as that but I think the source would be the same.

Oh my, I couldn’t live with that. So thankful mine has zero squeaks/rattles. Hope I don’t jinx myself replying to this. Noticed lots of post over the years on the subject though. Hope your dealer can get it resolved for you

I've had my truck for 5 months now, it started to make this noise a few days ago.
I did a google search and found this thread, read about the dash/defroster vent source.

So I stuck my fingers in the driver side vent and found that it would wiggle a bit, tried the passenger side, there was much less movement there. Wiggled the driver side a bit more. Went for a ride and the noise was gone. At this point I guess the issue is dash/defroster fit. When the noise returns wiggle the defrost vent again.

I put house screen rubber strip between front pillars and dash wit screwdriver on each end and stopped the noise.
Friend, can you post a photo so we can see how you did it?
