I like that it is a 4 door, and has seating. But like my Escape, it is wasted space. I too will most likely, 99% of the time be the only one driving. However, on that 1% that I need the space, I have it. I wish the back seat could have been made to lie flat, like my Escape does to make the back seat more useful/utilitarian.

Just realized this isn't a thread about back seats. Sorry about the hijack. Onward in regards to the cubby.

I have to wait until I get my truck to figure out how to use the cubby. May get a insert to attach the fit's thingy (whatever those things are called) to hang my garage door openers on it instead of attaching them to my sun visor.

Finally, improved version of my cubby insert is finished. It's definitely more complex then previous one, require 3d printing of a couple of components. But in general it's still the same thing: plastic insert with two switches and magnetic phone holder. I don't know what to use those switches for (maybe future fog lights). It's there already. Kids love cliking these guys. Magnetic holder connected to the main insert with short arm made of loc-line. Everything is assembled together with a couple of aluminum screws and rivnuts.

And, just for fun, I added a couple of stickers for the Space Odyssey 2001 movie funs

I've been putting my wallet there when going through drive up windows. Holds it nice & tight.
Most useful thing I’ve read for that cubby

I'm still waiting but I could see me putting in my small container of toothpicks and maybe a small bottle of hand sanitizer. I just wish I'd get a decent build date and the truck so I could look at that little compartment LOL.

So I've just resorted to using my cubby for the keys to the trailer receiver and hitch locks. I haven't in 10 months figured out anything else to use it for.

Empty no more! My daughter got me this at 5Below. It's filled like a lava lamp with a dog figurine floating around. Matches the XLT orange.
