No. I like to keep the depreciation of my vehicles at a limit of $2,000 per year, which is impossible with an EV. I have a friend with a dealer's license who is seeing nice EVS at the auctions get no bids. Even a $25,000, if they're worth nothing in five years it's a poor financial decision.
That's $3500 you could use towards your next Maverick. Drive the one you're buying til the warranty runs out, then sell it and get most, if not all your money back. Then buy a new one. It makes sense financially.
There was a guy on Bobistheoilguy that had the ADBV from his Fram filter sucked into his his Mazda engine, which destroyed it. I had a close call myself. I was a faithful user up to that point.
I was speaking more in general than just the compact truck segment. The car market could change quickly, but with the average age of a car in the US being about 12 1/2 years old, I think demand for newer used cars will remain strong. If Ford hadn't come in at $20k, what would the segment look...
Today a person can buy a new car, drive it for a few years and get a large portion of their money back, which makes driving a new car as cheap as driving a used car. My '23 Mav with 8,000 miles is worth $4500 more than I have in it. I really like my Maverick but I'm not sure I want to drive a...
There's no Fusion. There's no Focus. This is Ford's entry level vehicle. Even with a few compromises, it's a great value and draws people to the Brand. I thought Ford was nuts for dropping sedans. I was wrong. It was genius.
I did the same after I hit something on the interstate and ruined a tire and steel rim. The Ford dealer wanted over $500 for one steel rim, more than I paid for a set of Bronco Sport wheels/tires with 1000 miles on them.
I'm 6'2" 250 lbs and found the driver's seat to be rather uncomfortable for the first 4-5000 miles due to the side bolsters on the seat bottom. Eventually these soften and conform to your rear. The seat gets better with time but I would still love a lumbar bladder. I would like to see Ford offer...
Hmmm, the driver's seat is probably my only notable complaint about the Maverick. I thought making the electric driver's seat available at all trim levels would remedy this...maybe not.
I also have a CG XL. I hit something on the road that destroyed the RR tire and rim. I found some Bronco Sport wheels nearby. Whew. I was fine with the steelies but like this look a bit better.
