Dash Cubby Cover?

I’ve seen many inserts of one type or another, but none with a cover or lid. I am referring to the space ABOVE the entertainment center, not the ubiquitous space next to it. Does anybody know of a maker or if you’re able/capable, could you make one?

Reason: that “bin” has become a convenient place to throw extra change and why tempt someone walking by?

I just ordered a dash cover from Dash Designs and it doesn’t cover this “void” / “space” in the dash I will look for a filler or lid as well please post if you find something I will do the same

For Christmas, my sister gave me either this or something similar from another manufacturer. It just fits in the cubby. It's not a cover, but if you just have change in your cubby, you could camouflage it by putting this thing on top.

No bad looking I may order that I think this will definitely help keep my dash cover in position being I really don’t want to glue Velcro tabs to my dash or at least minimize how many I need - looks like I could install the dash cover then push this through the hole and let the holder hold it in position- thanks for sharing this

Do you live in a place where someone is willing to break into your vehicle for a couple dollars in change?

I know exactly what you're looking for. My first chevy volt had a covered compartment built into the top of the dash. The compartment had power for radar detector or dash cam the cover even had two notches for the wires to run through.

I have searched the internet and haven't found anything. Good luck In your search.

Do you live in a place where someone is willing to break into your vehicle for a couple dollars in change?

Can't speak for OP, or to Ventura County - but I have had cars broken into 3-4 times, and they were never in a place where I "lived."

At some of the places I've had to visit/park, people will smash a window just in the hope that there is a few dollars of change (or something better) hidden in a center console. Life in the big city.

As far as that dash well being convenient, to me it is an ergonomic PITA to get to, and I find it useless. YMMV...

This is what I use to corral spare change. Even those old enough to remember 35mm film canisters won't bother them. I keep in the space below the dash next to a tape measure to keep it from rolling around.

I found a very nice slip in on Amazon. Search for For Maverick parts. This one slips in and expands to the entire indention and not just in the small area.

I put my glasses on and now see which bin you’re talking about. I put kleenexes there. No one is going to steal that. Sometimes, I put my sunglasses there otherwise it remains empty.
