People don’t actually average this for an entire tank. Some do, but most are just posting single trips of great mileage. If they tracked it hand calculated it would be much lower.

I’m at 32.4mpg over 15k miles with my 25 AWD Hybrid
I go 600 miles minimum every tank without towing. (About 50 tanks) One-third of my tanks take me over 700 miles. (About 25 tanks) Twice, 800 miles.

Without a calculator what does that tell you?

Hint: use 13.8 or 14 gallons every time.
Your "manual" is misleading.
13.8 gallons is the nominal fillup.
Just like 5.7 quarts is a nominal oil fill.

The Maverick Hybrid holds more than 13.8 gallons of fuel. (16.5 actually).

13.8 is the safe, reliable, "recommended" refuel.

Miles to empty is an imaginary line drawn when you have burned 13.8 gallons. It is a long way from "empty"!

I will go back to NWOH soon to a 24 XLT hybrid, with a full tank of treated gas. That should last me 4-6 weeks of mixed driving. I would expect gasoline prices to drop back considerably by then.
Gas is up today ….close to $4.99

I go 20 miles to work and 20 miles home. This is due to a 10 mile drive for my kids sitter and a 10 mile drive to work after. Aprox 40 miles a day, Monday through Friday.

I purposely use surface streets instead of hopping on and off the interstate like I could do. I get 40 to 45 mpg on each leg of my commute depending on weather and if I'm running behind and running faster.

I keep it in normal mode because I'm pissed off at Ford for making me switch back to the mode I was in after each time of turning off the vehicle.

This right here is the best way to save gas, Hybrid or ICE. Most of us get in too much of a hurry, but if we can be patient (and enjoy the air conditioned/heated car interior with music) it is typically more efficient to stay below highway speeds.

How big is the gas tank on the 2026 hybrid AWD Maverick? I see Mavster Mechanic answered my question.
Thanks,

I'm a trained monkey. A few taps on the mode button each time I start off.

For hybrids. Getting on the freeway in an Ecoboost at 70mph will be better than city driving for it.

I heard someone say for best efficiency you should drive like there's an egg on the gas and brake pedals. Yeah, take it easy (as much as you can) and you'll get rewarded.

True, but since there is still air resistance playing a factor at high speeds obviously.
And some places do have options between city stop/go, and highway 70 mph.
I think an EB would get better mpg using the frontage roads / state highways I've taken from time to time.
45-55 mph.
Sometimes even had more direct shorter routes, and only a 5 min hit for 40-45 miles trip.
But no - I'm not driving 3-4 hours to Ozarks on back highways.

I'm in love. My Ecoboost Flex was doing 16-18mpg on the same commute:

Yeah, kind of a lengthy elapsed time for such a short commute, but some of that was spent in the driveway fiddling with the stereo controls (which I don't love) and then some more time was spent idling in the drive-thru getting my morning coffee.

Still have the Marauder though right?

Not the case in vehicles without ACC.
I think ACC is actually applying the brakes half the time. Probably has you confused.

L is just strong regen. The design intent is to hold your speed steady on steep downgrades. No brake lamps are activated.
Not so much "confused" as just not correctly informed. ACC on its own applying the brakes makes sense. Good point about no brake lights going downhill with ACC activated, but I've yet to see empirical proof. (I'd have to follow myself or another Maverick with ACC going on.) Might be referenced in a Ford shop manual. Thanks for your input.
