So I have a MY2022. Ordered June of 2021 and picked up December of 2021. Love the truck but it is starting to get a little quirky. I have the EcoBoost Lariat AWD with 4k towing package. I have had issues with the sync botting properly at times, you know just waiting for everything to boot up as you drive down the street for a while. Well yesterday went out to pick up a pizza and when I arrived back home shut the truck down and the radio continued to play. No controls worked to shut off or adjust volume. Restarted the vehicle several times nothing. Went in the house for a few minutes, came back out radio still playing, restarted the vehicle put in gear and the screen was black. Backed up screen came up, adjusted radio volume and turned it off then back on. Pulled back into the drive shut it down and all is good. Haven't driven the crazy b*tch today.

Good day

We just had another thread a few days ago, where they were having their Sync 4 system freezing. I think you have the Sync 3 in your Maverick?

The thing that seemed to help them was for a complete reboot of their sync system. Theirs was an issue with connecting their phone and the system would freeze.

Maybe if you look up the Sync reboot in your trucks manual you can carry that process out and see if it helps?

Just like our phones and computers, a good reboot may be what is needed.

Full disclosure, it was a suggestion by another more tech savvy member then I!

I hope this helps you out,

Andy

Sounds like a basic power glitch. Modern vehicles do not fully turn off for some time, and power is never truly fully cut off, so the radio would stay on if the bug prevented it from shutting down. Next time it happens, you can yank the 12v line to force it to shut off.

If the problem persists, you can re flash the sync system to overwrite any corrupted system files. The sync 3 in the lariat is generally a problem free setup, unlike the xl/xlts.

Next time this happens try doing a hard reset of the infotainment system. Press the power button in the middle of the volume dial and the FFW button at the same time until it reboots and shows the Ford logo again. Usually you only need to hold the buttonss 7-10 seconds to force a reboot.

Not for the same problems plus mine is a hybrid, also a early 22 bought in Feb, 22. Had a check engine list would not go off. Teck had me disconnect 12v neg battery cable for 15 minutes. Next time it doesn't go off try pushing the lock button twice with one or two seconds between. (Forces the delay timer to shut almost everything off in 1&2 seconds).

ETA: The 15-20 minutes with neg 12v cable disconnected was when I had remote tech on phone and he was seeing if that would turn off error codes on backup camera issue.

From the description it seems like the truck is possessed from external forces.

Have you installed any of the Sync 3 system updates via USB or the dealer?

To find your Sync 3.4 Build Version (do not scan for updates):
Select SETTINGS tab, then
Select GENERAL tab, then
Select ABOUT SYNC tab

There was an issue that caused gradual degradation such as black screen or settings not saving across restarts particularly on version 3.4.22251 deployed to most early Mavs. Ford issued CSP 24B27 for dealers to update it, but you can do it yourself via USB (or WiFi, but that's notoriously hit-or-miss) to version 3.423188 which is the latest/last update. Mine started to have issues with starting up in day/auto mode (normally set to night), losing ambient light setting, and crashing. Installed the update manually and it fixed it.

Your probably right! Yesterday I did the reboot and everything seemed to rosy. Then the tire sensor fault showed up along with the trailer light fault! But everything turned off when I got out.
