Costco Interstate H5 Battery - anyone install?

Has anyone installed the H5 AGM from Costco? Looking to see if it fits and vent tube can connect just fine.

I looked at it tonight and saw a hole that looks like it is for the vent but wasn’t sure. Does a cap come off the hole so it works correctly?

I believe it is vented on both ends. One of them put the vent tube the other one you put the cap in.

Just something to note, the Walmart H5 has a 4 year full replacement warranty. Costco is now 36 month prorated. Big difference!

Also easier to locate and buy (and hopefully replace if needed) at Walmart. Not all Costco's sell the same inventory, and they don't special order batteries. You have to go to a Costco that has the one you want in-stock, which you also can't find inventory online. I found it easiest to just call the closest warehouse and ask what stores around have the inventory since they can look it up internally.

Thanks, going this route instead. I didn’t realize the warranty changed. Ordered and will be here by Saturday.

Installed the Walmart H5. I did remove the plastic around it and hammered the metal down. Fully charged it, reset the BMS, and now it is resting. Hopefully I’ll get at least three good years out of it.


Such a PITA that Ford doesn’t fix this problem.

Now we just need someone to come up with an aftermarket panel that will accomodate the H5 without removing plastic.

Could you pass along detailed instructions on how you got the tray out since for the life of me I can't figure it out?

I have had mine out, you pull up on the plastic at the door sill area first then pull up on the plastic which is all around the battery, once both pieces are out the battery clamp is visible make sure disconnect negative first and put it in a ziplock bag so nothing touches, do the same with positive, I’m sure there is a video on YouTube, good luck God speed, the clips are push in plastic and pretty tough so give it a good yank

I havnt used Costco's batteries, but I heard they used to be excellent, but not so much now.
I personally buy Duracell AGM platinums from sams club for like 140 dollars on sale periodically
