Coolant for hybrid battery loop

Hey Maverick fans!

I’m trying to find the right coolant for my hybrid battery, and I was hoping you could lend me your expertise! I’ve attached a photo so you can see the engine coolant is yellow, and the hybrid battery coolant is green. My green coolant needs a refill, but the parts guy at my local dealership says I should use the yellow coolant instead.

Does anyone know if these two different colored coolants are the same or different? Thanks a bunch for any help you can offer!

P.S. I got the Motorcraft coolant shown here because I’m pretty sure it’s the right one for the engine.

Otherwise known as Motocraft Yellow. That's the right stuff.
Which is not the same as the yellow that came before the green, that came after - never mind, starts getting stupid.

PSA: The battery coolant has a cleaner environment than the coolant that goes through the engine block. Only reason for the apparent color difference.

Did you buy the Maverick new? Has any coolant been replaced, if not then maybe the coolant did change color with use, because they did start out the same.

Ah yes, that is something I did not even consider in my thought process. Your answer makes complete sense to me. Thank you for providing your insight, I appreciate it very much.

This car has been on the road for 19K miles! Before I got it, it wasn’t officially registered to anyone. A friendly dealership owner in SoCal drove it around before CARMAX sold it to me. Plus, it’s a “First Edition” trim level and even made an appearance at the 2022 LA Auto Show!

Some early hybrids did have some issues requiring service or repair of the HVB heat exchanger/cooling system. Perhaps yours had the coolant replaced and maybe you need to be watchful for further problems if it's low now. I don't see a perceivable difference in the colors on my '24 with almost 11k miles.

So, are you guys telling me that if the LiPo battery cooling system springs leak in a Mavbrid the LiPo drive battery overheats ?

It won't overheat at a certain temp the electron in electron out function is turned off. Many pop ups will show on dash. Family will evacuate due to my screaming forbidden words.
