Constraints aside, there is too much that goes into picking what order actually gets scheduled. Yes hybrids are constrained to 40%, yes lux packages are constrained... but then there's allocations and priority codes and whether or not Ford's scheduler is focusing on a specific region... so many stars have to align it seems... You can get very lucky or you may up waiting longer depending on your specific set of circumstances...

Sometimes I wish I never joined this forum so I didn't stress myself out over this so much.

The way it seems to work is, that if you change your order every week, Ford will give you a VIN # and a Production week so that you'll quit changing it. Then Ford will keep changing the production week to get even with you for changing the order so often.

Obviously a lack of parts, most of the backlog orders are hybrids, if they had parts that percentage would change
Hey Tim, I think we're saying the same thing, you can only build the trucks you have parts for, the difference between a hybrid and ecoboost are the engine, tranny and hybrid battery...those are production line stoppers, cant move a truck down the line without those parts......but you can build a complete truck without a spray in liner....is there a spray in liner material shortage ?...yes...but thats just a convenient excuse for a bigger issue Ford is having right now.

I would imagine that in order to reduce prep time/costs/etc., they won't build a truck unless it can be immediately installed with the SIBL. Sure they can build it and wait for the spray in material but then the trucks would be stockpiled in a dusty desert and then each truck would have to be washed and prepped in order to ensure a good application. It makes sense they will not build trucks with SIBL until they receive the material.

I think we all owe you a case of beer. Thanks!
I feel if we all got the Ford guy a case of beer, it may have an adverse effect on his liver or weight. I can volunteer to take some of the risk away from him. 🍺🍺

Did they cut off orders because they were full or did they cut off orders because the oktb was so late in the game that they knew they wouldn't be able to get them built before the new model year?
Both are probably part of the problem . But it has been stated from the very beginning Ford expected more Eco to Hybrid and that didn't happen.

Just removed the bed extender from my order. Not worth adding to the wait if it's that constrained.

According the order tracker on this site.

But not according to the numbers Tim has presented in his live webcast.

It's just that they were able to start building the EB much earlier than the Hybrids. So they have a big head start.
Tim has stated out of the orders (over 400) their dealer ship has taken, the Hybrid to Ecoboost has been 60~65% Hybrid, 35~40% Eco. The OKTB surely made matters worse for production now but they were behind from the start.

You don't have to stock pile trucks, you build them , send them out and spray the liner in later, alot of dealers can do that themselves and the ones that don't do that have been using franchise companies for decades.....they said the Mexico plant can build 800 units a day.....they are only producing 6000 trucks a month...do you really think they would be running at half capability because of a SIBL.....I don't think so.....and a lot of the ecoboost trucks ordered in Nov. with schedule dates have the SIBL......Just saying there's bigger issues besides the SIBL

There is a monumental cost difference from doing it at the dealer/aftermarket vs on an assembly line. Ford would be losing out if they went that route so they have no choice but to wait until materials are available at the factory.

Now there's nothing stopping you from removing that item from your build (unless its part of a lux package) and doing it aftermarket as you suggested, but there will be a cost difference that is passed down to you.

Great... I have 5 of those on the list. Scheduled Jan. 3 but will probably be pushed. Not surprised though.

That’s it, I’m removing the spray in from my order even though my dealer and Ford keep telling me they see nothing in my order that is holding it up…. It sucks as aftermarket spray in around my area will be a few hundred more than having the factory do it… I guess when Ford says you can custom build your order it means as long as you don’t add any options…
I am doing the same today. Dealer keeps saying nothing is holding it up. The dealer can still have it sprayed and add it to my final price.

So only 18% of the trucks produced will be an Xlt Lux, guessing the constraint on that being the sibl, why not just have the option to drop the bed liner from the lux package for a discount? It seems like such a better solution than adding a dibl or making your customers wait 2-4 months longer to get their vehicle.

I'm sure it has some dollars and cents reasoning but also seems to be creating a lot of frustration from new customers like my self. Frustrated customers don't normally become return customers.

I think you're missing my point, there are hybrid orders from June/July no lux package, no SIBL, no BUILD DATE...yet ecoboost trucks are being ordered/scheduled within weeks..... again it's not a SIBL issue....it's a hybrid parts shortage problem .

I am seriously beginning to think they won't be able to fulfill all MY22 Hybrids until next December. And then what happens when they start taking orders for MY23....
Order window for MY23 opens this coming June, so Ford is going to do everything possible to get MY22 Mavericks built before then.

You do have the option to change your XLT Lux package from SIBL to DIBL.
