Until they can make an electric vehicle that can take me 650 miles over two mountain ranges without two hours added on for charging, I have no use for them. I drive that a couple times a years and stop a couple times to stretch and put gas in once by necessity and a second time just to be safe. Replacing those 10 minute stops with charging times is an absolute deal breaker. I’ll keep my hybrid I think.

I asked a man at a WAWA station who was charging his EV how long it would take. He said 30 to 40 minutes and cost him $20 or more.

Yeah I know someone with a Tesla that has to stop halfway from San Francisco to Tahoe and it took him an hour. In a gas out hybrid it would take a half tank at most. It’s only a three hour drive.

For reference of those unaware (and these teaser articles still play coy with the appearance), this has been confirmed to be one of the prototype samples:

It screams Range Rover/Jeep/Pickup.....

Tucker was going to change the automobile market forever.
It was related to me by someone who was interested and alive at the time that the Congressional inquiry that sunk Tucker was instigated by legacy auto makers who feared the competition. In addition, there may have been some jockeying for possession of the huge Chicago"DodgePlant" where thouosands of B29 engines were made. Imagine three Goliaths vs one David as the contest Tucker faced.

There is a market for small affordable trucks but making it electric adds to the material cost, and additionally adds a bit of dependency on China selling 'rare earths'.

More info coming tomorrow night at 9:15 central at the reveal. Looks like it will be available as a "blank slate" strippo pickup, with a huge accessories market, and a huge list of options to make it your own. Looks like it will have a "bronco II" version and a hatchback version. I doubt it will be 25K, but I'm probably gonna be in on this. I was looking for a full electric small pickup when the Maverick came out and gave me a "half-electric" so I took the plunge.

But this fits my use-case perfectly. My wife has a good gas highway car for trips. I just want a runabout.

Take note of Exros coil driver inverter that allows you to charge it from house a/c much faster, and its coil switching system that allows multiple torque profiles from one engine. I've done a deep dive on Exros and bought a couple grand of it's 12 cent stock today. I take an occasional flier on penny stocks and this could be a good one.

Any vehicle in America that sells for 25k is going to sell, electric or not.
I will pay double = $50k "Dark Energy Persian Flying Carpet" Drive when someone gets around finding one buried in an old tomb.

No competition until it is in production. Until then, it is vaporware.
Pessimist.

I'm going to buy the commemorative model available the day of Blue Origin's first orbital flight.

(well, if I live that long. Maybe my grandchildren can do it in memory of me . . .)
