I think the Elio may attract the motorcycle guys, but not the general public looking for a 5 passanger family vehicle. It looks like a coupe version of a Slingshot, at half the price!

I had a deposit on an Aptera too, similar to the Elio but two side by side passengers, those cars would have great range and fast charging, could even charge up to 40 miles a day with the solar panels on the roof since it uses such a low amount of power to drive around... But, they kept kicking the can down the road with excuses after excuses and infinite delays. They still are soliciting money on their website. Canceled that one years ago, as well.

We were among the first Chevy Bolt EV owners so we got that tax credit, but since only 200,000 people could get it there were not much more after us. As soon as those credits were used up, they just dropped the price by the same amount. The manufacturers got all the tax credits, just in a round about way by inflating the prices up front. The cost to the consumer for any EV was basically the same with or without the credits, so the existence of a credit program or not really doesn't impact sales figures.

I was interested at the time as a daily commuter when I was poorer. Now I work from home so zero interest. This is why I'm bearish on the Scout and Slate. A lot of vaporware in the auto industry.

Slate has changed the website to reflect a price in the "mid-twenties" now that the tax credit is gone. So a 2 seater with NO infotainment screen, you thought the 2022 to 2024 screens were lacking. No power windows, AC, or paint colors. Slate still has not released prices for these add ons.
