Agreed , I have been seeing "Scout " ads for 2 years and have yet to see one for saleNo competition until it is in production. Until then, it is vaporware. The internet is littered with failed vehicle startups that could never meet the promises they claimed.
The plant in SC is still being completed. I worked for a supplier of parts that was awarded a contract to make some parts for Scout back in 2023. The first testing of molds was to be this year with limited production by 2026.Agreed , I have been seeing "Scout " ads for 2 years and have yet to see one for sale
on a lot or anywhere for that matter ....
Only change will be smaller parts flying off when driving it.You have to admit the fact that the Maverick Hybrid was a game changer.
The Maverick Ecoboost was a surprise hit.
Competition is good, but like one said, so far it’s just click bait and vapor ware.
I’d speculate that Ford will get the plug in Mavbrid and the full EV Maverick or Ranger out in full production first.
Ok I’ll admit it. I’m a Cybertruck Fan
Tesla will likely stay on top of the EV market.
I’d lay money on Tesla to build a mini pick up truck that actually works for the masses.
300-400 mile range,
1500 pound payload,
4,000 pound towing capacity.
Seats five, a maybe on this one.
Still if you tow 4,000 pounds I’d be surprised if your range held at 150 miles.
can't wait to hear all the raging "it was supposed to be a $25k truck!"It’s believed that the base model may be referred to as the “Blank Slate,” but Slate Auto is also expected to offer a large array of customization options via a program that may be called “Slate University.”
Certainly not for everybody yet. Neither were horseless carriages when they first came out.I have no interest in a EV truck.
Thought not impossible it is very unlikely as we have seen many of theses so call " distrupters" announced with substantial big name backers only to have them fizzles out to either bankruptcy or acquisitions. Lords Town, Canoo, Fisker Bright Auto, Aptera, Arrival, Faraday Future , Sono Motors, Nikola, Electric Last Mile Solutions , Coda Automotive. All claiming to be coming to compete with either Tesla or the Ford Maverick. If this price point holds then Ford should worry about future Maverick sales.

During the early America car rush there were many car manufactures one popped up everyday. eventually it all consolidated to the big three - Ford, GM and Chrysler.
in the American EV market today big three are Tesla, Rivian and Lucid.
As far as compact trucks there is room for only one more because right now it is Ford with the Maverick and Hyundai with the Santa Cruz - The third manufacture better hurry - or it will just consolidate to the two.
The thing with human being is that to much options cause us to make no choice at all but give us a limited two or three options and we are all over them. In conclusion the window is closing fast on another compact manufacture to introduce their pickup truck. Toyota, Honda, Kia , Subaru, Volkswagon. etc...
