Hi all - my battery came in today Any tips to remove the large under seat plastic? I have the two trim pieces removed and the large one loose - but for the life of me I can't get it out from under the seat.

What size battery did you get?
An H4 does not require any plastic removal.

What size battery did you get?
An H4 does not require any plastic removal.

The H4 - I see some posts that say it is easier to reach the bolt and plate that holds the battery in place and to reinstall.

Actually if you don't have a magnetic socket you can use a piece of paper, foil, my least favorite is gum but it works in the end of the socket to hold the bolt in while you put it in.

I have had this battery installed in my 2024 hybrid for three months now with no issues. I don’t drive the vehicle more than 30 minutes 3-4 days a week.

Our batteries are contained within the truck's cab and not under the hood.
I feel more comfortable with it being vented to the outside.

I feel more comfortable with it being outside! (well, of the passenger compartment).

I've been bothered about passenger compartment batteries since my father, generally quite skilled (paid for college as a garage mechanic), forgot to put the cap over the positive terminal before putting the seat back in in my superbeetle, and then reached behind the seat for something--pushing the seat spring beneath his knee down to complete the circuit.

"Uhh, dad?" I uttered, as the flame licked out of the new hole in the front of the seat. It went out quickly, though, as the current melted the spring off it's mount!

I don't like them in my '98 Deville (which has vents on a lead acid battery, for crying out loud!), and I ordered a hybrid maverick anyway.

Due to being in cab - the vent is probably failsafe.

Said the engineers who concluded that the Titanic's flotation cells didn't need to be capped, as was standard practice at the time . . .

So, Amazon says that this does NOT fit the Hybrid Mav. Are they just delusional?
