My Uplus AGM battery is on its way. Thanks to both you and mav47 for the link.
Anytime. Glad to help. I’ve learned so much on this forum that I’m glad to be able to give a little back.

Don't overthink it: just put any AGM battery in there, reset the BMS and call it good.

You'll find that random low battery voltage conditions & deep sleeps go away.

This is the battery I put in: UPlus AGM Group 140R, drops right in. Zero issues since installing it 15k miles ago.

Cheers!
Thanks for the suggestion and the link. Got it for $112 last week. Dropped it in this morning. Couldn’t be any easier. Hopefully bye bye to the “battery saver“ mode and I can actually use my FordPass app to start my Mav when it’s freezing out.

Did you have to remove to remove the plastic cover?

To me, it was the best way. Whether you can get to the bolt on the bracket that holds the battery down with an extension and then be able to loosen it up and get the battery out followed by getting the new battery in and under that bracket was not even given a second thought. Just pop out the plastic and make my life easier.

It’s obviously much easier without the plastic trim but, you do risk breaking the snap points on the trim if you’re not extra careful. I wasn’t willing to take the risk and found it easier than expected to replace the battery with the trim in place particularly if you are using an LN1/140r/H4 replacement battery. I would strongly suggest you use a magnetic socket and a 12 inch extension to address the hold down. I also used a simple Dow rod to push the hold down plate in place to tighten down. I took my time and finished in about 30 minutes. The biggest PITA was the positive terminal cover which had masking tape wrapped around part of it. Removed the masking tape and it was much easier to manipulate back in place. Not sure why it needed masking tape to begin with. The UPLUS H4/ Group 140R AGM battery is a real good choice. I installed the AC Delco LN1 AGM.

Thanks to everyone that recommended the UPLUS, I was able to snag it on Amazon for $111.

Of course PITA to install, I did a mix, I loosened the plastic trim but didn't fully remove it, to get enough space to fit my fat fingers in to replace the clamp.

Fit perfectly, zero fitment issues. Attached are a few dimension pictures for anyone on the fence.

I didn’t have any problems removing the plastic and I wasn’t extra careful. I just pulled up at every attachment point and everything popped out. Less than 5 minutes to pop out the 2 plastic panels to give wide open access to the battery and make the swap super easy.

I have a genius 1, how do I "optimize" the battery and what does this do?
I have a genius 5 the "optimization " automatically occurs after the charge cycle finishes . The green light will be the only one of the charge lights lit and will slowly be blinking. If green light is only one lit and is slowly blinking it is "optimizing". when optimizing has finished green light will remain lit waiting for it's next cycle which can be triggered when ambient temp changes or overnight drain reduces battery voltage which will trigger new cycle you can leave maintenance mode on permanently without battery harm. The one amp is not enough for the charge cycle to finish on a reasonable time and may not furnish enough to charge the battery while powering the computer though it would at least partially keep battery drain lower. Someone posted that he recommended at least a 4 amp maintainer for the maverick. The "optimization" is desulfating and removing stratification and equalizing the cell voltages. I am coming up on three years on my 2022 on 2/09/25 and still have OEM battery which sees my gen 5 every 2-3 months for 3 to 7 days with one to three daily driving interruptions. I would prefer not to do it but consider every 4 months minimum for any vehicle to get five or more years out of a battery. The maverick OEM is a three year battery and I will most likely get five or more years out of it, we will see.

I put in an LN1 AGM after optimizing it with
My Genius 5 then resetting BMS and letting it rest for 8+ hours. Never looked back. Consistently rests at 12.6v to 12.8v and charges at 14.6v to 14.8v as I drive. Two months in and no deep sleep issues. What came out of Mav was a 390 CCA POS …. It was only slightly better than the 350 CCA battery in my JD LX 280 garden tractor!!! I can’t believe Ford would install a “play” battery in good conscience. What did they think was going to happen ??????
CCA is not important in the Hybrid. The 12v battery doesn't start the gasoline engine - the HV battery does, via one of the electric motors inside the eCVT. No conventional starter in the Hybrid. All the 12v battery does if starting the Hybrid from OFF state is close some relays to allow the HV battery to do its thing.

No site is going to show the valid alternate sizes as fitting the Maverick.
Because only the R99 / T4 is listed as OEM.

As far as that size whatever it is - why deal with a size that isn't drop in ready that may require some sort of mod's to fit?

Did you see the list of valid sizes in several posts?

FYI : I was at Costco today exchanging a battery out of my 2010 Ford Taurus and I asked them if they had an AGM battery for a 2022 Ford Maverick hybrid. His first question was, you need a battery already? I kept the story short and he looked it up and said yes and I wanna say he said about $160.00 but when I looked for at the Costco site it was for 124.99
