Boo hoo Farley ! You bet wrong on electric vehicles and now the ICE vehicles have to save your bacon. You off shored what used to be American jobs. Maybe it would be patriotic of you to bring back some of those jobs. Do you realize how much extra pollution is emitted by having parts made in China, India etc ? There was a guy in one of the threads complaining he now had to pay $70 for 2 remotes, instead of $50 before Trump ! But, Bidenflation was better , right ? Cheapskate vs Patriotic - the choice is clear !

Err, is there a way to have 80% (or anything from 50% up, for that matter), without having more than anyone else?

🤔

Sun Tsu say: know thine enemy. I believe he did infer that. Besides, F-150s are harder to park.
Only for those afraid of squishing thine enemy under your truck!

I see this thread getting locked due to politics anytime now. So, might as well get my comment in while I can.
And your comment is????????????????🙂🙂 How about: I heard a new Ford that comes in only the color orange and gets 2.2 mpg will be available once the oil from the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge comes online............. Just kidding! No ill intent and I appreciate the info from the video.

"Despite building more than 80 percent of its American-sold vehicles in the U.S. – the highest share of any Detroit automaker – Ford Motor Company still imports many parts, which have been hit hard by tariffs. Ford CEO Jim Farley discusses with Kris Van Cleave why he says President Trump's tariffs, which have cost Ford $2 billion, are jeopardizing the company's investments in America – and may give an advantage to their competitors. He also explains why he drives a Chinese-made electric vehicle."

He also mentioned trumps tarrifs are now helping ford.

Hot "patriotic" takes like these make the "owner demographics" threads somewhat redundant...

That quote from the CBS site is referring to Ford alone and not any competitors: 80% of Ford's vehicles sold in America are built in America.

Don't be fooled by Fords "tarriff" sob story. Ford has been offshoring shit for years and hasn't passed a dime of those savings to its customers.

One thing that people leave out is that Europe is imposing tariffs on Chinese BEVs, just like the USA. It's not politics. It's industrial policy. China is employing predatory, unfair trade practices. Other auto-producing nations (left or right leaning) are doing everything they can to lock them out. At least for a few years. In hopes the home industry can innovate and compete.

Honestly, it looks really bad for the home team. But I'm rooting for us.

Can't say I am a big fan of Ford offshoring so much of their vehicle/part manufacture, so I don't feel bad for them feeling the pinch now. My biggest gripe with my Maverick is its made in Mexico but unless I want to spend $50,000 on a Ranger or Bronco for an AWD/4WD vehicle, good luck finding made in America from Ford.

I am also pissed Ford is killing the Escape, I planned to replace my Fusion with a Escape Hybrid when it kicks the bucket but by time I am ready to replace it, the Escape will be gone and just a vague response from Ford about an affordable electric EV suv to replace it....

It's all in the math. I build electronic systems for a living...A part I'd pay $50 for from a USA manufacturer might cost me $5.00 from India, China, etc. The US key problem is labor & benefit costs...The worker in India makes $5.00-$10.00 an hour, PERIOD, the USA workers demands health insurance, FICA taxes for retirement, Union Dues, 2-3 weeks vacation, sick pay, etc, etc.. gross pay would be $40-60 hour with all the benefits and the standard of living other countries don't have...that's not Ford's fault. A Maverick that retails for $35,000 build in Mexico would probably cost $42K to $46K and built in the USA and Ford would not sell many of them at that price, because they could not compete with other brands....the Tariffs on parts to Ford makes it even harder to make a profit. Ford and all US mfgrs are forced to increase their parts costs if built in the USA. Ford is currently in a bind with limits of Canadian aluminum import tariffs.

Ford and every other factory assemble vehicles with robots and Honda, Hyundai, etc still make their own cheap labor for components and do assembly with robots inside the USA....Vehicle manufacturers have to live off of a 6-11% profit margin....so it's all in the math.

Ford did not kill anything but a name.
The Bronco Sport is the Escape.
Just repackaged and renamed.
I thought everybody knew that one.

The SUV is just the final successful redo
Of the station wagon.
So basically SUV stands for,
Stupid Useless Vehicle :’P

I have an Escape and had a Bronco Sport.
The Bronco Sport is way nicer than the dated Escape IMO.

The BS is Especially nice if you get the 2.0L Turbo. But a bit wimpy with the 1.5L 3 cylinder Dragon engine. I had the 1.5 L
