Back in the early days of this Maverick board there were pontificating know it alls who said "oh this vehicle will never be used in fleets it doesn't have what businesses need for their fleet vehicles" ... Not enough payload, not big enough... blah blah blah blah blah.... I strongly disagreed with that statement. I said from the beginning, companies that have fleet vehicles that do deliveries, customer service, utility meter reading, and light service work will snap these Maverick hybrid XL's up. The company I work for just took delivery of 10 XL hybrids. The total order is 20. They intend to buy another 20 in 2023. I've said it before, I will say it again, I will continue to say it, Ford hit a grand slam with the Maverick hybrid.

Btw... My wife and I like ours so much we are talking about ordering a 2nd one in Aug for 2023.
I don't have mine yet, but just reading the posts here, I'm considering ordering a Lariat later, but ill know more once I get to drive one.

People were really saying that the Maverick wouldn't be a good fleet vehicle? I never heard it. If they did, it was only a small majority. The major consensus was that we knew fleet orders on Mavericks would he huge. No one is surprised by it. If anything, lots of people like myself are mad about it because there are lots of us June and July orderers that haven't even got our trucks yet because hundreds of others have been built as fleet trucks.

I am still waiting and watching. I didn't order mine until December 8th I've never ordered any vehicle before. I have certainly never purchased a vehicle that I have not physically sat in and driven. Took a while to get a test drive. Will see what e mail I get in June about scheduling....

Yeah even at the time it surprised me. I wondered what information did they have that I didn't have to come to that conclusion. It has always seemed like a natural logical fit to me. Looking at the projected manufacturing numbers I also wondered how fleet sales were going to affect retail sales. It wasn't just here, it was on other Maverick boards and on YouTube as well. I expect some were just trolls and curmudgeons, but I think some people actually did not see the value with the hybrid Maverick for fleet use.

Now if Ford would make a hybrid Maverick postal vehicle.... That may seem like a non sequitur but look what's going on with the fiasco of the USPS buying a new fleet of mail delivery vehicles.

Definitely will be bought up by fleets (if Ford even wants that low margin business). Last time I stopped by my dealer, there were 6 white XL AWD Mavericks sitting there, clearly a fleet purchase.

Ford Maverick Businesses won't use Mavericks in their fleet??? 20220513_142949

Saw this guy the other day on Ohio. Didn't even realize it was a Maverick at first since I wasn't looking at the plate placement on the bumper. The white tailgate hides the nameplate well. Plus with the ladder rack wasn't expecting it to be one anyways.

Oh I very much agree, Ford has totally dropped the ball regarding the ability to produce quantity of these vehicles. Companies like Ford in the past were far more vertically aligned from start to finish than they are today. Companies like Ford in the past were manufacturers, today they're more like assemblers thus dependent upon other companies to provide the products they need to assemble their vehicles.
Honestly enough with “Ford dropping the ball” comments. Every auto manufacturer is having production issues…..all of them. You don’t think Ford wants to sell as many of these little pickups as possible?

Actually from the beginning I heard people saying that this would be a great vehicle. I never once heard anyone say it wouldn't.

Ok.... Perhaps we looked at different forums, boards, threads, posts, YouTube vids?
I got to tell ya, if I was going to make something up to get clicks or likes, stirr the pot or whatever, I could do better, be far more creative than bringing up that there were people that did not think the Maverick hybrid would be a good fleet vehicle..... And making stuff up is not my style anyway.

In fact, in this threat alone there's a post with the POV suggesting that there are better choices than the Maverick such as small box vans for delivery and service work and things of that nature.

Either way, the reality today is, companies with fleet vehicles are snapping up Mavericks, in particular the XL hybrid. It makes good business sense.

I agree, and that is a very astute observation on your part. I don't know if fleet orders are going to take up all production, I can see where Ford would not want that to happen and would put a limit on such, but I think getting a Maverick at retail is not going to become easier. Fleet orders are going to eat up a BIG piece of the pie.

Still working on the "fleet" part of my business by the Maverick is absolutely the perfect work truck for a lot of tradesmen.

I got a fully loaded Lariat (if I gotta be the one driving it, it's gotta be nice) but the thought did cross my mind "I could get two hybrid XL's for this price"... then the thought crossed my head, "I wouldn't trust any of my service techs with a new vehicle anyways"

Still never seen a single Maverick in the wild. Beginning to wonder if I will see a single one before I get to order my 2023 model.
