I've been looking online and seen panda offers a redline fluid for the focus RS. But doesn't list this for the maverick. I started looking around and seen

Valvoline makes a ULV transmission fluid that meets and exceeds ford specs.

Also was looking at their ptu and rdu fluids.

Anyone using anything not motorcraft ?

I'm getting some occasional rear end chatter at low speeds that goes away and think I need to do a drain and fill of everything,

Seems the Valvoline has more additives than the Motorcraft. It's what I would go with.

There are many aftermarket choices for the PTU and RDU.

Am curious to an aftermarket alternative for the RDU.. for now , I am running the factory fluid

Would never hesitate to run Valvoline trans fluid. Great stuff, I have ran their products in other cars with great sucess. Will swap the fluid in mine soon.

PTU = 75/90 Amsoil Severe Gear Been in the Mav for a few thousand miles now.

Switched to amsoil in the ptu at 1k miles and have their transmission fluid coming in today. Ford is the only rdu fluid available at the moment.

I called Valvoline and they have the trans ULV and ptu fluid. They recommended a 75w-90 synthetic. Said it would be a perfect match for the truck with enhanced protection. But they also have a daily conventional for people who won't be towing or anything which is where I fit in but I think synthetic will do the best.

The Ford ULV trans and PTU fluids are synthetic, so Valvoline conventional would be a downgrade.

I found amsoil has a straight 75w. Wonder if we could run that in the RDU with a slip additive

I run the redline in the rdu. It’s great. But I run amsoil in the trans and ptu. The trans fluid is great. Did 50k very hard miles on the amsoil ptu and it was in great shape after the change
