Hi all,

I was trying to trickle charge the hybrid battery and saw this sticking out on the 12v battery under the positive terminal under the seat. Is that normal??

It looks like it may have had one of the service bulletins done for replacing the cable between battery and engine bay. I recall seeing instructions to leave old cable in place and just add a new one (overlay) ?

I could be completely wrong though. Just a guess.

Don't know what it is, but that's not where you trickle charge the truck's 12v battery. It is done under the hood at the red Jump Point.
Gotcha. Thanks! I was wondering whether it was the point under the hood or the battery itself. I switched it over.

Access would also be much easier at the Jump Point under the hood!

Either is fine. The main watch point is the charger negative connection which one would want on a chassis point (conveniently there's one adjacent to the battery) or at least before the BMS monitor on the negative terminal.

I have had my Battery Tender JR hooked to the underhood jump posts since I got the truck in July. No problems and NO deep sleep.

Haven't had the deep sleep problem, though the radio went dead earlier this week, tried to reboot at a light to no avail it was back to "Normal" after I went in store and then drove home.

Honestly I think a charger is less of an issue for potentially throwing off the BMS than an unmeasured load since the whole point of the system is knowing how much energy was used to prioritize recharging that.
