I have had both with multiple different trucks.
I like the undercover ultra flex. I just installed mine Friday on my Maverick and it fits great. I’ve had it on my Raptor for 8 months and have no issues. Went through the Carwash yesterday without any issues on the Maverick.

Oh no! I'm back on the fence, lol. Any particular reasons you prefer the Ultra Flex over the MX4?

I have the Ford Advantage Hard Folding tonneau which I think is a rebranded BakFlip MX4. I haven't noticed any issue with resting it on the glass but you could modify it so it wouldn't. I haven't had an issue with loading things in the bed with it fully up and since it sits above the rails there is plenty of space under it when it is fully closed. I like the locking mechanism for each of the fold and the ease of use. I have only notice a couple drops of water after it rains but have yet to determine where they come from.

I have the Ford Hard Tri-Fold as well and it's been great. Had it on my XLT and when my '24 Lariat Tremor came in I transferred it over. It's not completely watertight but what bed cover is? I'll get a few drops of water in a heavy rain or the car wash. To answer your question about the cover resting on the rear window there are three rubber gaskets you install on the cover so when you fully fold it the cover rests on the gaskets. Never had a issue. I also have the Ford bed extender, another very useful thing, I used it twice the day after I installed it. Turns the 4.5' bed into over 6'. I noticed you have the Ford bed mat as well, I picked one up from a guy locally who sold his Maverick, this mat is great, heavy duty rubber, pricey from Ford but for $80 it was a bargain. Remember if you have FordPass points you can use them to buydown the price.
Here is a YT video from the Ford VideoGuy showing the installation of the Hard Tri-Fold.

I'm so glad you posted this. I don't understand the Ford Pass points yet, but I plan to get their bed extender, a tonneau cover, Weathertech floor liners and a drop hitch for a kayak trailer. Would like a console vault too.

I've decided to buy one of these two tonneau covers and spent today reading through the forum and internet and watching videos. I'm still having trouble deciding. I'd love to read more about members' experiences. The most important differentiator for me I think is how much room there is in the bed when the tonneau is fully folded and whether it rests on the window/paint.

There are pro and con opinions on the internet. One guy has a "horror story" 2-year old video about the UnderCover Flex's clamp strength, material fading and customer service, but without more details about his and his friend's installation and use, it's hard to judge his experience.

Key differentiators seem to be that the MX4 rests on the window/paint and the Ultra Flex doesn't, the Ultra Flex has a "carpet-like" interior lining and the MX4 doesn't, and the Ultra Flex costs $100 more.

Also, the local business I want to use has more experience with the MX4 however, they say that the seal effectiveness is hit and miss from Maverick to Maverick, although they say water intrusion was minimal. (They did a Retrax install on an F150 for me several years ago and did a great job.)

General comparison:

BakFlip MX4 Tonneau
👍 $1,199 + $150 install (or $75 for repeat customer)
👎 Rests on paint or rear window in fully folded position (although I've found nothing about broken windows or marred paint)
👍 Local business has more experience installing these
Matte black
Aluminum alloy
No drill clamps/installation
400 lb. weight capacity
5-year warranty

UnderCover Ultra Flex Tonneau
👎 $1,299 + $150 install (or $75 for repeat customer)
👍 Doesn't rest on rear window in fully folded position (but does it take up that much more bed space?)
👎 Local business has less experience installing these
Matte finish
Aluminum
No drill clamps/installation
400 lb. weight capacity
5-year warranty
"Carpet-like" interior lining
All I can tell you is I bought an Undercover Triad from NAPA for my truck. Had a hail storm with nickel size hail and this is what my cover looks like. It is suppose to be strong enough to hold over 500 pounds, but the hail sure did a number on it and the truck is fine. Not saying the Ultra Flex is bad, but I did not expect the Triad to dent either. Maybe someone else has experience with the MX4 in a hail storm. FYI

Undercover Armor Flex!
The top is rhino lined so it holds up to whatever
I had one in my F150 for 3 years before I got the Maverick
Mine was only $1200 installed and the armor flex is supposed to be more than the ultra flex
Not leaning against the cab is less of an issue with a Maverick but I like that it doesn’t
Pretty sure either will be fine for you

As far as water getting in…. If the drains are hooked up you’ll only have drops here and there

Am expecting my 2024 Ford Maverick Oxford White in a few months after first week in April production so have been researching tonneau covers thoroughly as well. I have zeroed in on Leer HF650M for these reasons - FRP panels so no hail damage, quad fold so easier to handle panels, squeeze release handles so more theft proof than pull cables, stands up not resting on window and stand up prop hardware is more robust and not subject to breaking. Appreciate any comments on my choice so far.

Love my Undercover UltraFlex. I was planning on the BakFlip originally (i have nothing against it) but my friend that owns a truck accessories business leaned more for the Undercover so that's what i had him install. I do like the underside of the ultraflex better than the bakflip. But both are very strong contenders for excellent bed cover shopping. Good luck with you choice.

The only point of contact is on the plastic rear window bezel, not the glass nor the paint.
They ship rubber stand off blocks though I see no need for them.

I like the carpet look. I am also a dealer so I get them at wholesale. What’s weird is although a msrp difference it’s only like a $20 cost difference. They used to come with a light kit as well but they stopped that. My last Raptor I had a bed rug kit with the carpeted ultra flex and it was a good match looked cool. The Maverick is definitely a little different install but it still only took me 25 minutes to have it completed. Now that real truck owns both companies I would say it’s possible maybe some quality has dropped just like all corporations that take over small businesses to cut some costs but nothing else around that would be any better. The ford factory one isn’t bad but I’m sure it’s made by one of these companies it’s just installed at factory and would be warranted by factory. I really don’t think you can go wrong with either one. Just depends what look you want. I think one time I had a gloss shiny finish on one before and I didn't like it. They have some ones with with black FRP finish but I’m in Vegas so the sun is a little hot out here! The matte finish with carpet works good.

I've had 2 Mavericks with each one of these 2 covers. Of the 2, I preferred the UnderCover as the top alum panels have a SIBL coating (Linux type) so it would be a bit more durable (scuff resistant) versus the painted MX4. The MX 4 will butt up against the back window glass, but it has foam blocks to protect the finish and serves as a stand-off to the truck body. Another difference is that the MX4 clamps on each side are much smaller than the UnderCover overkill large clamps. This can show up if you have the Ford bed rail system as interference in the center clamp not allowing the bed rail slide clamp to be fully adjustable in the rail front-to-back travel position. The option around that would be some additional aftermarket tie-down clamps. Etsy has some 3D-printed ones available. You may have to cut/notch the bottom of the center clamp like I did. As to water intrusion, just make sure the installer will add plenty of seam sealing material all around the mating surfaces. Neither will be 100% water-proof. Add a gasket kit to the rear tailgate as there is typically a lot of clearance there.
