It's not odd for a Lariat owner. The recall affects all 2022-2024 Mavericks with the Connected Touch Radio system (non-Sync).Odd, I have a 24 eco and did get the recall, had it done yesterday.

Mine is set the same with delay prior and after recall and as I said it now shut off earlier. It would never freeze but as long as I drove slightly under 10mph it stayed on. Actual I liked that. Now it is a quick delay and off no matter the speed. That is a setting that likely was defaulted.
Mine stayed enabled.
SWITCHING REAR VIEW CAMERA DELAY ON AND OFF
When shifting the transmission out of reverse (R) and into any gear other than park (P), the camera image remains in the display until:
- Press Features on the touchscreen.
- Press Driver Assistance.
- Press Rear View Camera.
- Switch rear view camera delay on or off.
- Your vehicle speed reaches approximately 5 mph (8 km/h).
- You shift your vehicle into park (P).
That is exactly the useful info I discovered is missing when I looked at the replies on a mobile device, that I'm very much in the habit of noticing on computer browser when folks don't seem to notice the difference between trims/years.![]()
Cherokee has a Lariat and I believe the Sync/Lariat folk do not have the backup camera freeze issue like the Pseudo Sync of the XL and XLT. Hence no recall for it.
Whoops, Tbone beat me to it.
Thanks I do understand how it works and what was going on with mine. Some owners have videos of this while driving foward at higher speeds than mine.Mine is set the same with delay prior and after recall and as I said it now shut off earlier. It would never freeze but as long as I drove slightly under 10mph it stayed on. Actual I liked that. Now it is a quick delay and off no matter the speed.
I've noticed on many different systems thru the years, that if the setting is one way and the action is opposite - change the setting to match the action.Mine is set the same with delay prior and after recall and as I said it now shut off earlier. It would never freeze but as long as I drove slightly under 10mph it stayed on. Actual I liked that. Now it is a quick delay and off no matter the speed.
so how long did you laugh at the dealer when he told you that you need to put a battery tender on your relatively new truck? Did you tell him 'no dice' and what is he going to do to fix it? No way would I let that go . Those two donuts and cups of coffee aren't going to make up for your daily inconvenience of 'plugging in ' your truck.Had the rear camera software updated today plus the driver's side seat belt recall done.
My initial observations:
The screen is definitely brighter. No question about it. Noticed it right off getting into the truck with the FORD emblem splash screen.
The brightness adjustment bar in settings still does not change after 50% but who cares really. I think some will actually find it too bright and will be turning it down now.
Apple CarPlay boots up much faster now and operates smoother as well. I would expect Android Auto to be the same. I hope so as I will soon be leaving the dark side and purchasing an Android phone.
Last, but not least, I used to notice slight little pauses in the back up camera more often than not, nothing major but it was there. After testing it a couple of dozen times the operation is much smoother.
Dealer recommended I start using a battery tender as the battery checked out good but at 50%.
All in all I would say, so far everything is much better than it was. The whole process took an hour and a half this morning and cost the dealer 2 cups of coffee and two nice fat jelly creme donuts.![]()
Yep. I told him (Service Mgr.) that the battery management does not fully charge the battery. I think it can be changed to 90% on ForScan but it needs to be 100% like it has been on all cars for the past 100+ years. I just got a blank stare.dealer recommended a battery tender ???

What's sad is that you should be doing nothing and let the battery die in a natural state as many times as possible before warranty ends. This issue is always a contentious subject on here. Only one way to end that.so how long did you laugh at the dealer when he told you that you need to put a battery tender on your relatively new truck? I'm not plugging in the truck. It starts every time I turn the key even at -30F this winter. To be honest I have spent tons of time studying this whole charging issue, BMS and the like and I have had enough of it. There comes a time, and now is the time.so how long did you laugh at the dealer when he told you that you need to put a battery tender on your relatively new truck? Hey I got donuts, can't expect much more than that. You didn't test drive a Dark Horse mustang or Ranger Raptor?

Ahh, didn’t know he has a Lariat, thx. It's not odd for a Lariat owner. The recall affects all 2022-2024 Mavericks with the Connected Touch Radio system (non-Sync).
This is all mine says of a member, nothing more, nothing less.![]()

Interesting the mobile site won't even show the extra info, that's too bad. This is all mine says of a member, nothing more, nothing less.![]()
yep - hooking up a tender and keeping the battery on life support to keep it going only encourages more Ford bad behavior - they don't know or care that you are essentially doing their legwork but them having to pony up for a new battery will eventually get their attention and (maybe) provide some motivation. What's sad is that you should be doing nothing and let the battery die in a natural state as many times as possible before warranty ends. This issue is always a contentious subject on here. Only one way to end that.
