For reference the fix for the recall on the Maverick camera is out but most dealers will not know about it but you can inform them and set up a appointment for the recall I already have a appointment for tomorrow morning.

I read on this forum they needed to replace the camera and there was supply chain problems getting them.

No, they just plug a computer into the OBD-II port, then install the update, and it is slow to load and install the new firmware update.

This is the problem with having unqualified anonymous posters. People will just say whatever they want, even make shtuff up without any fragments of reality. Then someone repeats it cuz they saw that first someone post it, and suddenly it's a legitimate source because it was corroborated.

The Internet had so much promise for real knowledge dissemination. Now it's just...static.

The video may freeze or lag, so naturally the fix is to update the audio.

If you think thats bad... My wives VW Atlas had a door harness recall.. Seems simple till you realize at the time of the recall the part was made in Ukraine and also the Ukraine war had just started 2 weeks before.. the door harness recall caused the front left and riget window to randomly roll down 1-2", caused the air bag light to come on saying they wouldnt work/were inop, made the parking break come on when your car stopped or was going under 1-2 MPH.. there was no rolling stops with that.. when you came to a sign and got to a stop..parking break came on, caused various dash lights to blink that were totally unrelated to the door... and as they had to totally resource to part took about 1 year to fix...They also fought tooth and nail to NOT give me a loaner... it wasnt until i said (and yes seriously VW N/A told them not to give a loaner unless this was said) "I dont feel safe driving this anymore" has it for 6 months...So this by comparison is a non factor cake walk lol.
