Around Christmas 2025 I took in my 2023 Maverick XLT for a service(oil change, transmission fluid change/flush) and a dead USB port. they(the dealership) had actually wanted this several times to also do the thread title backup camera fix. I had initially refused as they couldnt tell me how long it would take and ive been around long enough to know what that means in Dealership speak... you may be here 1 hour or literally sitting there all day we dont know.. So nope im not sitting at a dealership all day.. Fast Forward to near Christmas 2025 my wife also has off so now i can leave the truck and get it a day or 2 later(they refused to come pick it up OR give me a loaner originally).
Anyways drop it off all the repairs and services got done(other than the USB they had to order that part) but they requested a extra day to try to get the backup camera fix done. I said thats fine..but even giving them the extra day.. So go in the 23rd of Dec and they say it still didnt work.. I take truck and they said they can try again when i bring it back for USB work.. I said that may be a while possibly near 4th of july week as thats the wifes next vacation..they agree to send their drivers to pick it up.. they do so.. Fix the USB and again ask for a extra day to try to get this backup camera thing to work. I say ok. So the next day they call and say it still didnt work.. ask if i really need it back.. I say why isnt this working? They say they need to download a update and then the update has to "take9aka work) and that its downloading the update but its not updating correctly apparently thus not fixing the issue.. I ask.. if you keep it since you have had it 4 FULL DAYS now to do this will that fix it? They say they have no idea so I say just let me have it back.
Anyone else have this issue with the backup camera "fix" not working multiple times over multiple days?? BTW its April now and its still not fixed..
I will admit ive never had any real issue with the camera anyways but wth is so hard about this fix and it actually working? 4 full days with the request of a 5th and still not working??
